    • I’m swimming more regularly, further, and faster
Have used UA products for about 5 years. Always the best products out there so if you are a regular swimmer, particularly freestyle or you’re moving a little faster than most, you’ll really appreciate the difference in ear seal and stability. Since everyone has moved to music streaming a lot of the competing products have become very quickly outdated - the days of drag and drop purchased files after you’ve converted their formats are long behind us. The Delphin adapts to the way people get their music now through Spotify and credit to UA for addressing that aspect and really makes it a clear standout compared to the competition. I initially assumed because of the size of this thing it was going to be really heavy but you honestly don’t notice it when it’s on and actually the number 1 thing is all about the seal you get on the ear buds. Typically I use the trees and throw away all the others. UA swimbuds variations consistently excel in this area of seal. One area of improvement I’d like to see in future models relates to the battery. No issues with how long it lasts - performs great there. However, it likes to be charged for 3-4 hours only with lots of warning stickers about over charging. Whereas most people like to charge something overnight, forget about it and wake up and it’s ready to grab and jump in the pool with. Or at times it may be sitting on the charger for a couple of days before the rain stops and you remember to go and eventually take it off. In my case I would probably still overnight charge because that’s what humans do, and in the rare event that it eventually breaks then that’s on me and I’ll accept I need to buy a new one. Took a good 2 years for me to kill one this way with this naughty behavior which I was satisfied with given I would ordinarily have backed myself to lose the thing well before then. For future enhancements and models though, that’s the area I’d like UA to look at to make the experience slightly more user friendly. Overall though, still a brilliant product and best on the market for what it does. Certainly has made me swim more often, further, and faster by quite some margin. ... show more

    • I GIVE UP! Pros and Cons
I give up. I've purchased this three times, hoping that it would work but not for me. Unfortunately, it won't work and I've returned it each time. Pros: 1) Sound is great 2) It is the only mp3 player that permits full audiobook functionality, e.g., forward and back at one's choice 3) It will permit input from an iPhone, alleviating the strain of typing into a teeny-tiny screen. Cons: 1) It is finicky. It is far too easy to accidentally make changes to the audio while in the water. I've accidentally skipped ahead or back or even change the book altogether, with just a movement of my arm or head. 2) The screen is far too small for someone with large fingers. The stylus isn't much better. 3) While it does interface with the iPhone, the goal here is to avoid the use of the iPhone while at the pool. In the pool, I was back trying to use the incredibly small and difficult-to-navigate screen 4) The other controls, e.g., on/off, forward/back, etc. on the side of the unit are also way too small. 5) You must use the very short cable that is provided in order to connect to the PC. If I didn't, I would consistently receive messages that my PC could not identify the device. I need a longer cable in order to use the teeny-tiny screen. 6) Battery life sucks. Placing it on airplane mode will extend the life but the benefit of being able to be notified of a phone call is gone. I was looking for a way to be notified in case of an emergency. 7) I had asked for advice from customer service and the only message I received was to return the unit. Summary: This unit is okay if someone is aiming to listen to music without concern for consistent play, e.g., doesn't mind occasionally skipping forward to a song. It is also okay for someone with nimble and small fingers AND great eyesight. However, it isn't recommended for someone like me, who listens to books, who with larger fingers, who wants to be able to receive an emergency call, and who likes to be in the pool for two to three hours at a time. ... show more

    • This this is Terrible!
This thing is terrible. Too difficult to setup. Too difficult to download offline music. Does not work with Sirius XM. If you use amazon music you have to purchase the advanced option to be able to download music.I want my old ipod with itunes back. Wish I had not purchased this thing.

    • Does Everything it Claims. Outstanding!
So I gave it 5 stars because it does what it is described to do as well as I could ask - it carries downloaded music of my choice from Spotify and lets me listen to it for my long swims. Typically I try to bang out 5-6k sessions non-stop every day. The music is really the only way that I can stay motivated for the 2 hours I need to accomplish this goal. The device is dependable and easy to use, once you become accustomed to it. Additionally, their customer service is top shelf. As such - 5 stars. That said, it certainly could be better. Battery life isn’t outstanding (something I presume comes as a cost in trade with weight, which is very pleasantly light). The screen size is tiny (as expected and I know there isn’t much to be done about it) which makes any use challenging. The WiFi connectivity is pretty weak and it selective - the device doesn’t locate each WiFi with equal ease. Future devices will surely only improve but man, this thing kicks butt. It is the fuel to my swims and I will be sending a huge thank you to these wonderful folks for helping me prepare for some Ironman events in the coming year(s). The one suggestion I have is to make sure your ears are cleaned of any wax and are dry before you place the headphones on. That will give you the best chance of the buds staying in place. Thank you!
