They are a bit loud but normal for a window unit. They installed easily in about 15 minutes. I had a central ac in my house that died. I have a massive double living room connected to a hallway bathroom and bedroom that all needed cooling. Normally my house is the same temperature as outside without air. With my central working it would struggle to keep 77 degrees. I installed just 2 of these units in my living room and my central thermostat was reading 67 degrees this morning in my hallway, farthest from the units. It is now 80 outside and still holding 67 inside and every one of those rooms is comfortable and cool. I highly recommend these little units. This unit is as loud or louder than any other window air conditioner I've owned, and I've had a few. Pros: will fit small windows and other air conditioners will not. Offers 6000 BTUs in a unit the same size as a 5000 BTU window air conditioner. While "energy star" claim is an exaggeration, this unit does have an eco setting that could help save on energy costs. Cons: This unit is fairly noisy. In eco mode, the unit keeps cutting on and off sometimes only two seconds apart. You might find this to be annoying, as I did. The remote has no display so you can't really see what temperature you're setting the unit at unless you actually get up and look at the unit. Kind of defeats the purpose of a remote control. Bottom line: I looked at theee 6,000 BTU units on Amazon that would fit my small window. All had the same measurements with prices ranging from $209 to $259. I believe it's the exact same window air conditioner just with different branding. If I had it to do over again I would have saved money and bought the unit for $209. ... show more
