  • Saint Saens organ symphony under Barenboim? Genesis Los Endos? Hear, hear!
Style: DM60
After agonzing over what hardware to put into our high vaulted ceiling living room, Amazon's 4th of July sales of DM60s came around and we bit the bullet. I could not have ever imagined how often I would sit on our sofa crying and with goose bumps running all over my body. There are probably many reasonable sound systems that you can get at this price point. But for a large head space room in a woodframe building with hardwood floors for low frequency resonance, the bipolar design seems super ideal. These speakers enable the music to make a stone cry! ... show more

I moved from a Focal tower to Def techs. I had purchased Focal's based on Audiophile reviews. Focal was OK (after listening to DM80) these DM80s are a beast. I purchase it last thanksgiving, (after listening to them at Magnolia, Best By after I compared these with B&W and some others) and wanted to give a full 12 months before i gave my review. They will blow your mind for home theater. ... show more

  • Amp issues?
Style: DM60
I have seen amp failures in some of the reviews for these. I own the DT 9060 towers. I have gone through 2 sets of speakers and 5 amps. I don’t listen to these loud or have bass adjusted high. I’m curious how many people are having amp issues on DT powered towers? It seems as though DT has not figured out the amp problem and if this is the case, I would stay away from these. They do sound great but it is not worth fighting with customer service teams for the life of the speaker. ... show more

  • This is the end, beautiful friend
Style: DM80
To the adverse reviews touching on backwards-az warranty issues ref:amp, spot on dides, spot on. Not only is the electronic nervous system prone to decay , but worse the website for Definitive is an echo chamber. Ironically, the same liquidator with Boston Acoustics in its gut at the bottom of the swamp waiting for 2+G spenders, Masimo, is now "restructuring, " this [explitive] group. Why should you care? As others here stated, technical service under warranty reveals DT's trajectory: vortex in full swing pulling in buyer by buyer into its event horizon. Try its " Contact us" feature online, for example, leave in addition to that deposit a VM for the bot residing over this zombie Corp graveyard. You will get crickets or be volleyed about like kids in the cul de sac with tennis rackets who caught then, collectively focus on a toad in a shocking manner. This type of manufacturing requires owners to buy with credit cards that "back up" DT's warranty and/or acquire separate "coverage," because those pay outs are the only pit stops before reaching the end, friends. Sorry the news here is bleak, but you will find other carcasses littering their outhouse at BBB. Isn't it odd website says its in Carlsbad, BBB says Vista, but the liquidator pulling zombie-corp-strings, invisible? ... show more

  • DM80 Review - Great sound.
Style: DM60
I paired DM80 front speakers and DM60 surround speakers with a DM30 center channel. Fantastic sound all around. The DM30 center channel is great for clear sounding movie dialog and great for solo singers. Listening to the MTV Nirvana Live recording is like being right there in the audience. Great for movies too. The 12-inch woofers make you feel the explosions. ... show more

  • Replacement Amps?
Style: DM80
As an owner of 4- BP7004's I suggest that you check to see if or for how many years replacement amps for any of these powered towers are/ will be available for purchase. They will fail and in order to get them repaired you have to pay to ship your speakers to California along with a sizeable deposit. Just do a Google search for Definitive Technology Amp failures and weigh your options. I wish I knew this before buying mine. They do sound decent when they are new before the amps start to fail. Get anything relating to amp replacement in writing. ... show more
