This is a good quality, sturdy pop-up gazebo. However, it really needs larger tent stakes to hold it in place. We had a windy day yesterday, and it blew the canopy across the yard. It was more difficult to put up than it suggests, and the instructions are not helpful. Usually I don’t have any problems figuring out how to put products together, or set them up, but I had to call a neighbor to help with this. He has one similar, so he knew how to put it up fast. The trick is to put counterweight with your body against the bottom of one of the cross bars, while pulling the loop in the middle of the cross bars, the opposite way. Once we tried that, it went up easily. I ordered it to put on our patio for shade and protection from bugs and rain. It’s nice to sit inside when it’s raining lightly, and smell the fresh air. It’s the perfect size for two lounge chairs and a table, and great to be able to sit outside without getting mosquito bites. There are 3 poles around the door opening, which make it very sturdy, and I like that each side has window and side flaps, that can be rolled up. It also came with a few storage bags that can be hung inside the gazebo. Overall, this is a great pop-up gazebo, it just needs better instructions, and larger tent stakes. ... show more

    • Tough assembly but great results

I had been looking for a beach canopy for a while, and this looked perfect. Having said that, I'm not sure I'll ever be bringing this to the beach because it's more elaborate than I expected. It's no pop-up, but once it's up, it's a sturdy, useful shelter that is more for multi-day campsite than a few hours of sun shade. You can open all the sides and uncover the roof so it's just mosquito netting, or you can close them all, and it's very much a large tent without a base (although a tarp is included). I can see why they used the term "gazebo," because it's halfway between a classic tent and a typical canopy. The "gazebo" is a wonderful size, and my 6'2" husband could stand inside it and feel like it was built for him. We could easily fit 4-6 camping chairs inside it with room to spare. It would even go over the picnic tables that are provided by campsites, so that would be perfect in inclement weather, or just to avoid mosquitos. You can properly stake it without risk of ripping it up, and it feels really sturdy. Except for the damage that we will inevitably do to it while assembling, I see this lasting well. The assembly instructions are attached to the outer bag, which is always a nice feature, because we won't lose them. Having said that, they were insufficient for my normally capable family. Once fully assembled, the "gazebo" allows you to leave most of the structural piece in place so it's easier for subsequent assemblies. It takes up quite a bit of space for storage, but it's a large tent, so that's to be expected. My reduced stars are simply because of difficulty of setup. I judge the setup of these things by how quickly and easily my family can assemble them, and this one was a killer. My kids are almost 13 and 11, and they have extensive experience setting up tents and canopies. Usually they tackle tents with no issues, so when they came in for help after 15 minutes, I knew this was difficult. I then sent out my husband to assist, and 5 minutes later went to check on them. 3 angry faces stared back at me, and my husband said, "this is beyond our capabilities." I stepped in to help, and another 5 minutes later it was done, but it was waaaaay more work than any of the other tents/canopies/etc. that we've set up. This feel more like the tents of my youth than the easy-pop tents that we buy today. Granted, August Houston afternoon heat wasn't the smartest time for us to do it, but even so, everyone shouldn't be exhausted by the end of it. Also, they managed to scrape the paint off the metal fixtures and scrap a tiny hole in the corner of the wall as they struggled, so that's annoying. We also lost a tie for the rolled-up sides in the initial assembly, because someone pulled it too hard and it ripped off. Bottom line? It's a nice product that is high quality, but I'm not sure that I would buy it again. The amount of effort that's required for setup makes me think that I realistically will almost never use it. This gazebo-tent is great quality! It is heavy and requires a couple of people to put up and take down. It can be a little challenging. But it's so worth it! Love the different options it has, makes it a must-have for us to take camping and to outdoor gatherings. Very happy with this.
