  • Didn’t expect top notch, but had some unexpected positive results!
The media could not be loaded. Highly recommend these fans if you’re trying to get more air through your case. This is my first build and I’m using a NZXT H500. For a few weeks or more I’ve just had the two stock 120mm fans in the back and top of the case. Sometimes while gaming my temps would get a little warm and the fans would really start whizzing. Couldn’t tell if it was my Wraith Spire or the NZXT case fans or both. I was beating myself up about whether to upgrade my CPU fan or get a liquid cooler to keep some heat off, but just couldn’t decide which route I wanted to take and how much to spend. I had been wanting to add a little light in my case so I figured what the heck, I’ll try some RGB fans for now and bought the 5 pack because they were reasonably priced and decently reviewed. Here’s my thoughts thus far: COOLING - I’d say my temps idled around 35-40°C and I gamed somewhere around 48-57°C. I don’t do much overclocking so, not really getting into that. Once I did some reading about proper air direction in the H500, I put 2 of the fans in the front of the case for intake and made sure my top and rear were exhausting. I fired up Division 2 and played for a while and the fans never spun up like a jet once. I was super impressed. Checked temps and I was gaming about were I used to idle. I had no idea these would add so much cooling to my case. A+ for these giving me great airflow! NOISE - Fan noise never seemed to bother me and until my stock fans and Spire really started to take off like a jet. Holy cannoli they got loud. After installing these 4 DeepCools, noise level dropped significantly. I really expected these to be super loud based on the cheaper price and some reviews, but my experience has been great. A+ for bringing my buzzing noise level down to a slight breeze! APPEARANCE - This is one spot I feel that lacks. The fans are black squares and just look like you’re basic case fan with a white translucent blade. No real bells or whistles there. The LED lights shine from the center of the blades out so, the light is really strong in the middle and just sort of dissipates at the edges. Overall, though, I’m still really happy with the aesthetics they gave my case so, I’ll say a B for appearance. QUALITY & INSTALL - I’m working on a GIGABYTE GA-AX370 in an H500. Everything was pretty straight forward for the install, but I ran into three concerns. 1) The supplied screws seemed almost like they didn’t want to fit into the fan’s screw holes. I really had to back up a few times to insure they were straight and try again. I feel like they don’t line up super straight and you have to use way too much force to get them all the way down. 2) the power wires seemed a little short, whereas the RGB cables were a good few inches longer. This had me scratching my head a few times to figure out how I was going to daisy chain everything and get it all to where it needed to go. I feel like for the most part I didn’t have a lot of cable to spare so, be wary if you have a large case. The supplied power hubs and RGB adapter gave me the proper amount to get the job done, though. 3) The RGB adapter that connects to the mobo feels very very loose. I even pushed on it gently a few times to see if it just wasn’t all the way seated, but it was. Works fine, just makes me nervous how loose it is just sitting on the four pins. I like a snug fit. One last issue that might bother some is the instructions. They are garbage. I don’t even know why there are any in the box. It’s a few outlines of the the product showing how it daisy chains and that’s about it. I pretty much just problem solved the install myself and threw them out the window. So, kind of a C+ for install and quality. Bottom line, I’m super happy. Even if I only used them for a few months and moved up to something else, I feel like I got my money’s worth and they did more than I had even asked for. I had no idea they would help bring my case temp down so much and be so quiet all the while giving me some nice visuals in the case. I’m even considering holding off on doing more research on CPU fans and coolers because I’ve had great results with my temps! For my personal biased experience, I give them an overall 4 stars. Will report back if anything negative comes up. ... show more

  • Great budget 4 pin PWM fans with 12v/4pin RGB, with some caveats.
Pros: -great value -bright LEDs -pretty good cooling -RGB cords daisy chain well -5pack comes with 2 fan hubs -vibration pads work well Cons: -cheap screws -not the quietest at high speeds -RGB Header Extension cord slides off easily -not sure if the fans RGB plugs should go directly on the RGB header All in all, great deal for some RGB flair. The fact that the fans can be daisy chained to get to the RGB header made it 10x easier to wire them up without the need to purchase any splitters or control hubs. Note, the lighting will NOT work unless you have 4pin 12v RGB headers on your motherboard or a 4pin lighting control hub. The fans weren't the absolute easiest to install because the screws stripped really easily. Luckily these were replacing some cheap 3pin non-rgb fans for me so I had some other self threading screws that worked well since 3 of the 15 screwheads stripped when attempting to install. At 40-50% speed, you can very slightly hear the fans spinning/pushing air, but no rattling or vibration or weird hums. At 60%, they're pretty audible but not too obstructive. Higher than that, they're pretty loud, though tune in your fan profiles so that they don't go very high except at higher temps and you won't be bothered since you'll be immersed in a game or productivity task. Now, the RGB header extension cord fit perfectly with the fan plugs. But, the end that goes to the RGB header was really loose- it slid off while installing the fans a few times which was obnoxious as I'm working in a fairly small case. The other problem I had was that I was going to split up which fans were going to which header, but the fan RGB chords were even looser on the header. I think they're designed to all plug in together and then into the RGB extension cable as there was nothing for the fan chords to grab onto on the header otherwise. That being said, I found out that my motherboard pushes the same colors to the two RGB fan headers so it didn't matter much anyways. I didn't notice a huge drop in temperatures after switching from lower RPM lower air pressure 3pin fans, though my thermals are mostly limited by my stock CPU cooler. All in all, I would recommend these for good budget oriented 12v/4pin RGB fans. If you don't want RGB lighting, you'd get a better value with other fans, though these seem to circulate air well for budget RGB fans. Edit: When I originally wrote this review, this 5 pack of fans was $35. At the current price of $65, I would absolutely not recommend these. ... show more
