Bought these lights 4 years ago (2019) and have used them ever since for the christmas seasons. They're great, bright, work consistently and I am considering purchasing another set to add onto them. The length is so long, you don't need multiple small sets. I would highly recommend these lights.

This lights are beautiful! I love the many color changes it makes an thefact that I can live them on the white setting only if I wish. My only dislike is that the control is not to powerful and you have to get almost under the tree to be able to change the settings.

Use case I pass a series of Mc-mansions on my way home. Every year they have their trees professionally wrapped from the base of the trunks, all the way out to the full length of each branch. It looks amazing. While I'm not going to spend the money to do that, I thought I could try to do my best on a tree in my yard. However, since I wasn't going to rent a cherry picker, I was just going to be limited by my extension ladder (and my sense of balance). The type of wrapping I wanted to do requires a dense pattern, so I bought 4 sets of lights. Packaging/Build quality The packaging was decidedly no-frills, with the some cling wrap securing the light roll within a ziploc bag. The lights do not come on a reel, so it's worth buying a reel when it comes time to take down the lights. The insulation on the wires is very thin and the wiring is of a very small gauge. While that makes sense from a current perspective (these draw very little), it does call into question the long-term durability of these lights (especially if you take them down and put them up a few times). The construction of the string of lights makes sense from a light-visibility standpoint... the lights are perpendicular to the strand. However, that's a pain when you are wrapping a tree. The lights create serious tangles withing the string. Also, the factory bundling isn't ideal, as it creates two wound "balls" per 100ft set. The tangling is reduced somewhat when you re-roll the lights onto a reel. The power adapter appears adequate. The power/mode button is jacketed in a rubber boot. Noteably, the adapter does not allow for AC passthrough. That's a bummer, since you can only have 4 strings in series. Also, there's no way to sync multiple strings (like a signal wire between multiple adapters). Performance This is a low-wattage setup... even for LED lights. As such the light output is pretty subtle, and dissapointing when compared to higher output LED and incandescent alternatives. It's not awful for my application, but you should really give the brightness some thought if these are intended to be a primary decoration. How you feel about the lighting effects is subjective, but I really only think a few of them are nice. Some of the modes are a little visually jarring, but I don't think anyone would have eplilepsy issues. I connected three of the strings in series, and did not see any noticable dimming. Special Note Waterproof? The IP55 rating of these lights could be best described as water-resistant. It's the second digit that you really need to pay attention to. Essentially, the "5" corresponds to water exposure most reminiscent of rain. "6" would/could be thought of as a sprinkler head (jet-type), while "7" would be for submersion. Please keep that in mind when using these lights, and keep the adapter out of standing water. Conclusion You probably have some idea of what you want these lights for. If you don't need anything particularly bright, and you want a long string of lights on the cheap, this product may be for you. The ownership cost of this item goes up a bit if you factor in the cost of buying a storage reel, so that's worth keeping in mind. The photos show the lights in action. If you're looking for a warm white that is close to incandescents then these will not work. These are closer to the regular bright whites you get from most LED Warm White products. I do have another 300 dome-string of lights that are only warm white and those are much closer to warm white. The other string is from a couple years ago and seems to be of better quality because they don't affect my sensitive eyes (i.e. PWM used for many screens). These dual-type do affect my eyes and won't work for anyone who has the same issue. That said, if you're looking for just some dual-type light to use outside then these will work, just make sure they match the other color temperatures of the lights you use if the make/model of lights are mixed. ... show more

Was primarily looking for a warm white with green wires to go on my tree and liked the idea of having a remote control as well. Thought the remote was the bonus, but with the remote having 10+ different options ranging from simple white through and including Vegas-style flashing lights (which I will only really use when kids come over), I was pleasantly surprised by these lights! The remote took a bit to know what setting was what, but also fun to find all the features! Oh, and there are 4 levels and dimming to bright! Really like that feature as well. Admittedly, if they were able to magically appear on my tree, I would give them 10 stars (if it were an option) of course! Anyway, hope they last for many years! (Once the lights are installed, I will hopefully come back and update this review and post a photo of my small Christmas tree with a few different light settings.) ... show more

First I worry about the plug and it's controller being weather proof so I have protected them in plastic cases. That being said I bought 1 and installed it and liked it so much I bought two more and now getting another set. The first set I bought I used to wrap a tree in me front yard for Christmas and it was so good I buried the power line and had it up all year. I single LED has burned out through snow storms high winds rain storms animal. The second set I am using to light my patio and steps time will tell for these as they have only been up a month or two the last wrapped a second tree. They are great lights, hard to work with in it's full length but I used an extension cord reel. The remotes are universal so one drivers them all which I like as well. Because they can be set to white only they are good all year round. ... show more
