    • Perfect replacement, order the right one for your vehicle
Works perfect, and correct charging lug depends on you being able to identify your original part. I did it by comparing photos to my original. Note that unless you actually have the police package vehicle, you should order this one for Mercury Grand Marquis or other panther platform 4.6. year of vehicle matters.     • It works.
After I put it in I noticed my headed lights flickering I checked the voltage and it fluctuates between 13 and 13.5 it should be 14 volts. It’s has a little whine but for $50. About six months later it works fine no problems and there’s no wine.

    • Great part, meh packaging
Bought as direct replacement for a 2000 Lincoln Continental, part looks great including a rarely seen assembler's paint stripe across the pulley, which the assembler adds when the pulley nut is torqued down before the unit is tested to act as a visual reference that the pulley has not rotated in relation to the nut. So bonus points on the manufacturing process. The part works as expected so far, but only has a few hundred miles on it. The only reason I took away a star is because the part packaging is essentially nonexistent and allowed the hot stud to punch through the part's box. Because Amazon did a better job with packaging there was no damage to the Amazon box, indicating the part box was probably already damaged at the time of shipment from Amazon. ... show more

This alternator DOES NOT FIT A 1999 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS!!!! Bottom slots are to thick and the plugs are on the opposite side of what they should be also the plug that just plugs in is not the right plug in. No way to get ahold of seller
