    • Great unit. Clean install. Convoluted instructions, but good support.
Pros: - Beautiful, much larger screen than the OEM display. - Improved sound quality. - Great native features, plus Android Auto and CarPlay for older models. Cons: Instructions are convoluted and easy to misinterpret: - Packaging includes two sets of wires for different head units. The CANBUS (switchboard) is attached to one set, but instructions don’t specify its importance and to transfer it depending on which set of wires you're using. Ignoring this can prevent OEM parts (camera, steering wheel controls, etc.) from working. - OEM vents need to be transferred (not difficult, but not mentioned in instructions). - Red “latches” from OEM molding must be transferred for the unit to snap into the dash (not difficult, but not mentioned in instructions). The CANBUS issue made me think the unit was defective. Support identified the problem quickly, and now it works great. Clearer instructions would have prevented confusion and frustration, which they responded to and seem to be correcting quickly. ... show more

    • Decent replacement, but audio is buggy.
Radio works decently. The skip song and back song buttons on the steering wheel work opposite as before. The Carplay connection is spotty which results in songs playback jittering on occasion (drives me pretty nuts, tried moving antenna). I have noticed that the volume is slightly lower than before as well.The dash display does not remember the personalization color any longer, resets to light blue with every restart. The GPS also does not communicate with this screen like the original navigation did with visual turn indicators. Radio sucks when it’s constantly skipping your songs. Just installed the new g13 for my Tacoma and it’s hands down well worth the money! The wireless CarPlay is awesome. Netflix/youtube for long drives is a game changer. So far the G13 has been everything I hoped. The system works well, Apple CarPlay is great, and I’ve been told the audio is clearer on calls with this rather than the OEM unit! It looks like it was designed for the truck and doesn’t have any weird gaps. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a little more tech in their Tacoma! ... show more
