  • Arrived damaged (dent), but still keeps things cold while in my garage.
What can I say, it does the job I got it for. I put it in my garage and it keeps things cold. I put a temp gauge in it and it is keeping the temperatures low without to much variance. What ever was used to move it during the shipping process did damage the box on one corner, which put a dent in the back of the unit near the and rolling caster wheels. I decided to keep it and it works. The dent did make the wheel move from its original position and it would not get completely level, as you can only adjust the front and not the back wheels. I had to put something under this bent back wheel to make it level. If there was a category for condition on arrival, I would have rated that low due to the damage, but so option to rate. ... show more

  • Perfect freezer for our apartment
Runs very quiet, great for a small apartment. It had a manufacturing odor inside so I wiped it down with vinegar and water and no more odor. You have to let it rest for 6 hours before plugging it in to settle from shipping. Follow the instructions. We love ours!

  • Garage ready verified with manufacturer
Just purchased this freezer. I received an old version of the owners manual which says it is for temperature controlled rooms only. This is incorrect! This model DCF072A3DBD can operate in ambient temps of 0 degrees F to 110 degrees F. Verified by Danby directly. If you contact them they will send you an updated manual. ... show more

  • Its Wonderful
Freezer works perfect! Shipped FedEx and I recommend another carrier for shipping because it was 4 days late and the box was pretty bad. The freezer was intact and the company was great and keeping me UTD on information.

  • Specifications on site not accurate. Arrived with damage
On site details states the unit can be used in garage, however owner's manual states( page 3 under installation instructions, bullet point 6) it should not be used in garages or other nontemperture regulated areas. Also freezer arrived with two dents, one considerable on the lid, and one minor on the front body portion. I have decided to keep the unit as I was able to find a location inside where I can place it and although the dents are unsightly and disappointing, the return would be combersome and inconvient for me at this time. But I did want you to know what's happening with your product in relation to customer service Kevin Paicely ... show more

  • Delivered 1 day ago, followed directions. Now Apt is FULL of smoke & bad fumes. Don't buy this!
I studied all the different chest freezers and finally pulled the trigger on this one which was priced higher than what I intended to spend. The reviews seemed very good. The machine was delivered to my apt door. Left outside the door. I carefully pulled it inside my place. It wasn't heavy. I unwrapped it. One small dent in the rear left bottom of the freezer. I did not make much of it as most reviewed described small (and larger) dents and the machines still apparently worked. I took off the tape and foam pieces from inside as instructed. I wiped it down gently inside and out. as directions said. I plugged the machine into a properly grounded three prong socket where no other appliance or device was plugged in. The green light came on. I set the temperature control to the highest setting. i heard the motor. The machine was level. I placed a freezer/refrigerator thermometer inside and then began to smell a new plastic smell. I had not read about that on the reviews but I figured it was normal. I knew i had to wait 3 hours at the highest setting before placing any of my frozen foods inside it. The odor persisted and when i went back to check on it about 1/2 hour later that room was filled with a hazy smoke that smelled very strong. I won't risk a fire in the apt building where 100s of families live. I expect I am not going to have difficulty getting the seller to come pick this up. Good thing I did not throw the box out yet. Now that i think about it, the box was damp when it arrived. Maybe that caused the problem but whatever caused it, I should not have to suck up the cost of a product that doesn't work. ... show more

  • Frost up too fast
Please let me know if all of these freezers frost up very quickly and frost shows up at the gasket on the door within minutes. It is suppose to be a freezer than can be kept in a carport. It is humid outside. It seems to me my future is defrosting this freezer every 2 weeks.!!! Need info. Meriwether McGettigan ... show more
