  • Nice except one weird design flaw
Size: 117 Cans Style: Beverage Center
I've had it for awhile and it still runs great (even survived our apartment flooding). One random design flaw however is the corners of the door are incredibly sharp like a knife point. Today is the third can of soda I've lost just opening the fridge to load it with more drinks. Even when it just barely grazes the side of the unopened can is a enough to puncture it and have the drink spray all over. Just seems like a weird design issue that the corners are so sharp and I'd worry about it more if I had small children. ... show more

  • Good value
Size: 95 Cans Style: Beverage Center
Needed a beverage refrigerator to free up space in our regular refrigerator. I liked this one because it doesn't have a tiny freezer space (which I don't need). The adjustable shelves let me set it up to hold bottles and cans. The handle is an indentation in the upper part of the side of the door, which isn't very convenient for where it's located (on the floor). A handle on the front, or an indentation on the top would be better. But it is what it is. My only issue is with the frame around the door. Although the shipping box was undamaged, the stainless steel bezel at the lower left corner of the door is bent, causing the lower bezel to be misaligned (outward) from the left side bezel. It's just cosmetic and doesn't affect the seal of the door, but, obviously, I'd prefer to not have a new unit with a cosmetic defect like this. I submitted a message to Danby on their support website and aside from the boilerplate autoreply "Thank you for contacting Danby's Customer Care Centre! Your case has been received CASExxxxx and has been placed into priority sequence. We will contact you within 1-2 business days to help resolve your issue"), I've received no response. Says a lot about the company. Hopefully the refrigerator keeps doing its thing for a few years with no other problems, because I don't have much confidence that repairs (warranty or otherwise) would be easy to deal with. The future replacement for this unit almost certainly won't be made by Danby. Edit 12/13/2019: 56 days after submitting my message to Danby on their support site, I received a reply from "Gary" telling me that I should "contact Amazon for damage goods received as that is where you purchased the product." Sorry Danby, not Amazon's fault, nor the shipper's fault. The packaging wasn't at all damaged. Plus, it's 56 days later, so it's a little late to file a claim for damaged goods. Danby would have been better off just not responding, rather than this ridiculous (and very late) reply. As I said in my original review, the future replacement for this unit almost certainly won't be made by Danby. And I'll now add that I would never recommend a Danby product to anyone, specifically because of my experience with their "customer support". Edit 3/17/2020: For those who might have a similar problem and know how to use a Phillips screwdriver: A few days ago we started to hear a loud tapping noise started when the motor was running. I finally got around to checking it out today. It sounded like the fan blade hitting the cover. I unplugged it from the wall and removed the fan cover inside at the back near the top. Plugged it back in and the noise continued. Unplugged it and pulled off the fan blade (it just presses on). Plugged it back in and the noise still continued. I tapped upward on the side of the shaft while it was spinning and the noise stopped. When I tapped downward on the side of the shaft, the noise started again. I was going to remove the bracket that supports the fan motor shaft, but before loosening the screw, I checked to see how tight it was. It was loose. I tapped upward on the shaft so it was quiet, then tightened the screws on the bracket. Replaced the fan blade and fan cover. Now my cosmetically-damaged and poorly-customer-serviced refrigerator is as quiet as it was before (just the hum of the fan). Try this at your own risk and peril. Be sure to unplug the refrigerator at the appropriate times. If you're not sure of what the appropriate times are for it to be unplugged, then don't try this. ... show more

I’ve had this about 18 months and it’s doing great. Keeps drinks very cold. I’d buy it again.

  • Being able to adjust the temp was the key point on this purchase!!!
Size: 117 Cans Style: Beverage Center
Thank you for the efforts in posting detailed reviews on how to dial down the temp. After two days I had the temp dialed in at 31 degrees. A half turn on the set screw brought the temp to 19 degrees so this fridge could be used as a beer froster which costs about $700 or more. The temp does bounce from 31 to 39 but that is expected on any fridge I feel when the door is opened and closed frequently. I rarely write reviews but when solid reviews prevented me from buying a fridge that only cools to 40...I would have been very upset. The fridge also looks great with the blue light illuminating the pantry. Athletes are in the house so a nice chilled sports drink after a run is awesome. Pull the trigger and buy. ... show more

  • Amazing LED Mini Fridge
Size: 117 Cans Style: Beverage Center
This fridge came packaged very well. Plenty of cardboard and styrofoam to prevent damage during shipment. It was super easy to cut the plastic straps and pull the cardboard box over the refrigerator. Keep in mind the proper process for setting up a new fridge. Assume that it was rotated during shipment and leave it upright after you get it into its final location for 24 hours. It's important that the oil has a chance to settle in the compressor. The reversible door is a nice feature and easy to flip to the other side. Once the fridge has settled, you wipe it down, and let it run empty during its initial cooling, it works well! The compressor started out somewhat noisy, but after a day or so, it broke-in and quieted down substantially. I can barely hear it while it runs now. It keeps my beverages under 40F, so zero complaints on the temperature. Just turn it to the coolest setting and you're all set. The blue LED lights are a nice modern touch. The only things this fridge lacks are a light switch on the outside (it's on the inside but easily accessible at the front), a temperature display, and push button temperature adjustment. Would those things be nice to have? Yes. Are they needed? Not really. Most users will simply turn this to its coldest and leave it be, and you can place a mini digital thermometer inside if you'd like. The only slight hassle is opening the door to turn off the light. The shelves are adjustable, there is an auto defrost, plenty of room, and the door seals securely. Overall, it's a great modern mini fridge. ... show more
