This reel is awesome. Every bit worth what you pay for it. Love this reel! Smooth to real in and very light

  • Great Quality
Style: Lt 2500d-xh
The media could not be loaded. I’d recommend to anyone for inshore and bass fishing anything larger that 30lbs I wouldn’t recommend though. The body is made of Zion V which is stronger than something like the Fuego LT but still not up to par with aluminum strength. But for bass setups and similar, this is great. Only issue I can find with it is there’s a little play in the main gear but you have to really be nitpicking to notice it. Other than that it’s a perfect design, drag is good, line lay is good, has the hook keeper in the top of the spool if you don’t want to use your rod’s hook keeper. The casting is equivalent to my Stradic FL C3000-XH As of right now it’s my go to setup paired with the 2023 Tatula XT rod 7’ MH ... show more

  • Superb Reel
Style: Lt 1000d
I use Diawas almost exclusively. I use them for smallmouth, drum, carp, panfish, steelhead, largemouth, walleye - mainly in rivers. I load all of them with either 2x10 or 6x20 Power Pro Braid line. I'm out in all weather and 8 months of the year. They have not failed me. The ballistics are my faves; smooth casting, retrieves, drag. Excellent reel for the money. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for!
Style: Lt 3000d
This reel is great for its price point. I used both the 3000 and 4000 primarily for King salmon considering it's 22lb - 26lb drag and deep spool. The build quality is really good but can use a lil lube out of the box. Comparing it to a friend's Shimano Vanford the Vanford is lighter weight but the body of the MQ LT seems more durable IMO. I also know people who used it's more affordable cousin (daiwa fuego lt) for King salmon with no issues. Overall I recommend it if you are willing to pay around $200 for your reel. If not then get the Daiwa Fuego and you'll still be good to go. 🎣 ... show more

  • Brand new, Not smooth
Style: Lt 3000d
The media could not be loaded. I just received this Ballistic from Amazon today. Unspooled, new from the box. I attached the handle and gave it a spin... wow was I disappointed 😞. Every turn produced a scraping sound. Just enough resistance to slow the crank. I own several Diawa reels. All of which are MQ designed, but a step up from this Ballistic. They perform flawlessly. This feels like it was made by a different company. Night and day. My Saltist MQ's are sweet. My Saltiga is flawless. This Ballistic feels sloppy (slight wiggle in the crank arm), and has enough play in the crank to cause this rub. (Listen to the video) Obviously it wasn't inspected well before boxing. Disappointment and frustration are my feelings right now. Hopefully you have better luck when purchasing, but be aware that the quality is not there for a $230 reel. It's going back to Amazon. ... show more

  • Daiwa Ballistic 1000
Style: Lt 1000d
My dad always sold me on Daiwa SS700 spinning reels and we have never had a major issue out of any of the 10 we probably have. We fish custom made Loomis rods and I wanted to let my boy have his own thing. I bought him a Custom rod made from an Exceller Pheonix blank and got him the ballistic 1000. So far no complaints. It is smooth as silk and at almost 2 ounces lighter than the 700, it is a very nice real. No complaints for letting him switch to the ballistic. ... show more
