Johnny Jig says 700yds of PE2 (20lbs) but that is absolutely not true. 500yrds is closer to the truth, but that does not allow any room for a 30-50lb leader to come up on the reel's spool. The truth is about 450yds of PE2 (20lbs) braid, loaded with the Daiwa recommended pressure on the line. Worked this out the hard way by load 150yrds of Daiwa's super braid (20lbs) followed by 300 yrds of the same keep the loading load in the middle range the whole time. But this aside, this is a totally great reel for jigging in deep water 900-1100ft. Awesome drag and powerful motor. ... show more
