  • Most Impactful Book I've Ever Read
I found the Dad Tired podcast through a friend a few months ago. Since then, my wife and I have welcomed our first baby girl into the world and I can't express it enough how practical everything in this book and podcast has been to my life and my family. Thinking I needed tips on how to be a good father and husband, I found more and more of the gospel on every page. This is the reason my family and I have decided to give to the dad tired ministry and why it has been so impactful for not just me but my family as well. God has used Jarred and his family and their story to impact so many people, people they most likely will never meet... it's been such a blessing and I couldn't recommend this book more. Since finishing it, I've bought this book 3 more times for friends and recent dads as well. This book is more than a book about being a dad and a husband, it points you back toward the gospel and that is why I couldn't recommend this book more! Thank you Jarred and everyone involved in producing this book. ... show more

  • Don’t hesitate! Buy it, read it, live it!
I was honestly hesitant about buying this book. I had followed DT on social media platforms for quite awhile and enjoyed content that was posted but pumped the brakes on ordering the book. I had read the great reviews and thought about it several times, but I’m a stepdad. And in the world’s eyes that usually doesn’t count. I felt like the book wasn’t meant for me and the topics covered wouldn’t apply or make sense to me. But I finally decided to order my copy and give it a read, and man! What an eye opener. Jerrad penned this book with wise counsel broken down into easy-to-understand lessons, using his real life examples to show that he’s been where we are and has the same struggles we do. Realized many bumps in the road and areas for improvement in my own Spiritual life that I hadn’t even took notice of before. Great stuff. If you’re like me and not sure if you need the book, you do! ... show more

  • A Timeless write and a tremendous blessing to the Church
A book long awaited in my life and in God’s perfect timing, sovereignty and providence it shows up on an iPhone in front of me. I am filled to the brim after reading these chapters, and know I’m not alone. Jerrad Lopes thanks brother for writing this and being a real brother to share your heart and your stories of life helping dads navigate the “Dad Tired” life. I have gained so much biblical truth and wisdom from these chapters that will point me back to Scripture. I myself being a new dad to a handsome baby boy couldn’t really put a finger on how I was feeling, or what I should be doing to lead my 16 month old to see Christ in me. I was not lost (because in Christ I have been found) but this book has given me SO much direction rooted in Scripture and story. I often say this book would be great just for Christian men, but I have big plans to hand this out to every Dad I know. And I loved how you shared the Gospel in the first chapter to set the tone for the whole book. And I do know through this book, people will see Christ, and want to follow him forever. A timeless write. A forever read and a blessing to us all brother. Enjoy this day, and sorry for the late post. I am juggling 4 Jobs at the moment. #DadTired Fav. • Great book!
Jerrad has a great way of using humor to get serious points across. In several chapters, he starts with a story from his life (usually self deprecating), some of which will make you laugh out loud, then he builds on the story to illustrate the central truth of the chapter. Reading the book feels like you're just sitting on the bank, lines in the water, having a conversation with him. So far as the content, I found it to be doctrinally sound and, as a dad myself with a 2 year old son, very helpful and encouraging. The central theme of the book boils down to the fact that it is our job as fathers first and foremost is to point our kids to Christ. That sounds simple enough, but the problem is that we are all imperfect men, so how do we do this without blowing it? I appreciate that Jerrad shares some of the (often embarrassing) mistakes that he's made and lessons learned along the way, all well-grounded in scripture. I definitely recommend this book. ... show more

  • An inspiring read and great resource!
I've been following the Dad Tired podcast for a while, so I was excited for the book to come out. It was just about exactly what I expected, and that is a very good thing. Jarrad is a great storyteller, and proclaims the Gospel with incredible clarity right into the context of many of us young-ish dads. There were many things I took away from this book, but mostly it is about equipping men with a deeper vision for what it means to be a dad whose goal is to raise children who follow Jesus, while also giving good practical guidance as well. The great joy of a book like this is that I bought it because I want to be a better dad for my kids and point them towards Jesus, but in it I find myself wanting more of Jesus personally, and I'm learning to trust that the One who loves my boys far more than I ever can is going to work through me to shape their lives. Thanks for writing this, and for a great Dad Tired ministry! ... show more
