This book has a lot of writing, so if you're not into that, it might not be for you. I really like the book and the idea behind it, but my dad hates his handwriting and is having a hard time filling it out.

  • The Greatest Gift of ALL
Style: Dad Life Story Journal
First Impressions of Coco & Lan Dad's Life Story Journal: A Meaningful Keepsake for Dad to Share His Journey and Memories, Book Includes Hundreds of Prompt Questions, A Perfect Dad Gifts Idea, Sentimental Gifts for Dad for Father's Day, Birthday, and Christmas ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-stars ✅ Quality Paper ✅ REAL book binding and cover ✅ Amazing concept - Every father should go through this ✅ High Resolution and Crisp Printing ✅ Inexpensive ❌ No apparent shortcomings except the process could get emotional Warning - Heartbreaking or tear jerking content ahead. My father passed away a few years ago. He left 99.99999% (note the decimal points) of his sizable estate (including multiple properties, retirement accounts, cars, jewelry, etc) to my younger brother. He left me a roll of random nondescript silver coins that I have yet to decipher any meaning or significance. Although my brother claimed that my father “loved” me before and and after his death, I find this hard to believe. Also, with my grandparents passed, I now have very little link to my past and ancestry. I think it was unfair, heartless, and hurtful for my father to leave me a roll of insignificant coins when I would have rather received a letter explaining why he felt I was undeserving or why he hated me. “A DAD’S STORY” would have been amazing to read about my father’s life in the first person. I have an autistic son who is high-level functioning. My son is highly intelligent but he is easily derailed. He is actually an ex-girlfriend’s son that I had long broken up with over a decade ago. However, I watched him grow up since he was 6 and he is soon to be 21. He “adopted” me and loves me as his dad, just as I have treated him like my own son. He currently lives with his grandmother. One day, when I was checking up on him while his grandmother and mother were on a two-week trip, I sensed that he was greatly depressed, and possibly suicidal. Since I was familiar with my own previous feelings of depression, I could recognize the signs. I steered the discussion from the present to the future, in order to give him something to look forward to in life. I explained to him that eventually, we all meet our demise – and that a parent’s responsibility or job was to teach their children to survive and flourish, in this, sometimes, cold cruel world. I explained to him that I wanted him to pay attention to the things I was trying to teach and enlighten him, so he could survive after the time when I should depart, unexpectedly. I asked him what I should leave for him in my last will and testament – if there was anything meaningful that I owned that he may want. This question made him a bit emotional and upset, as he did not want to contemplate the one day I would be gone. However, he did come up with this: “Maybe you could write a story of all the things you did, all the things you want me to learn, and all things I need to do?” I replied, “Like an instruction manual for life?” “Yeah, kind of.” Strangely, this product came across my Vine Voice “Suggested” that day - I immediately ordered it. This VERY high quality product guides the user (Dad) with a mix of factual and introspective questions simulating an interview. All that needs to be done is to put ink on the paper – just skip the questions with difficult answers for now. The book is over 100 pages full of questions and tables to fill out – for the people that are left behind to read. In my opinion, this is the greatest gift one can leave behind to loved ones. The process is not difficult per se but rather could get emotionally difficult. If DAD can fill out one page every other day, in a year, this book would be finished. Of course, later history would still have to be added on, but it is the early history that is more difficult to retrace for descendant children. Thanks for reading and hope this helps. ... show more

  • Let Dad Share What Nobody Else Could Possibly Share
Style: Dad Life Story Journal
Many of the topics gracefully and thoughtfully added to this "Dad's Story" book are things I didn't know ... and would have never known, about my own father, until my sister asked my Dad to complete a book like this years ago. Since then, it's been an important piece of my own family history, and one of the few things I'd think to grab if the house were flooded or on fire and I had to leave immediately. This book has a nice "hard-bound" cover in Navy Blue with an attractive silver design on the front cover along with bold, silver letters. It has 120 "front and back" pages. There is a large collection of "prompts" to guide "Dad" through "filling in the blanks" for completing "his story." The prompts are divided into 10 chronological sections, including: - A Bit About Me - Childhood - The School Years - Adulthood and Working Life - All About Family - Fatherhood - Reflections and Values - Milestone Moments - Lightning Round Questions - Notes to Loved Ones Without getting too "mushy" about this book, if you had ... have ... came from ... or are creating ... a family where most of the people at least half-way like each other, (or know someone else in that situation) don't think twice, just get the book for Dad. Ask him to share with you so many things that nobody else in the world could possibly share, and watch "Dad's Story" reliably grow more valuable over time. ... show more
