  • EXACTLY what I needed!
I got this to get my 8 y/o's computer up and running for school. I had taken an old PC and wiped it clean so I could install basic Chrome OS on it for her schooling. Well, since it's basically a glorified Chromebook now, I needed to get it internet service using my wifi router. The only way to do this was to run a 20 foot cable down my hallway or intall one of these cards. Guess which one I chose?! This was SOOOO easy to install and it gave her instant internet access. ... show more

  • IT works...
It worked. This combined with the Linksys WRT1200AC allowed me to get close to 90 Mbps download. With a direct connect to my modem I get around 100Mbps, so I guess I'm pleased with the performance. I am paying for 150 from Xfinity so, I guess I;ll have to have a discussion with them. FOLLOW the directions and do NOT install before loading software!! (The 2.5 MHz signal is much stronger than the 5 Mhz, computer is less than 10' from the router.) The network mapping software is nice, and the app is OK, not sure I can find a need for the app? ... show more

  • Steady received signal on 5 GHz band.
Computer is two drywall walls away from the D-link 850 dual band router and gets a steady -55 dBm signal. I was using a TP-link USB adapter but it only had the 2.4 GHz band and my neighbors are all using this band and I wanted to switch to the 5 GHz band. I re-positioning the external antennas but it did not make much difference. Installation and configuration was easy. just make sure you have the proper type slot on your desktop computer. I am running Windows. ... show more

  • Glad I took a chance.
I was apprehensive about buying this, I was even already shopping for another just in case this one didn't work on arrival, but I stuck with my past experience and I tried it out. After all it was half price from Amazon warehouse deals, so why not. In all the unboxing and installation it took me roughly 10 minutes including powering up my pc and connecting to windows 10. It installed the drivers it's own I just had to enter the wifi information and I was done. Glad I took the chance very happy with it at 5ghz, I did 5 hour gaming session last night and no hiccups whatsoever. ... show more

  • It, as well as all electronic devices will fail in time.
The performance is great. You must have enough distance behind your machine to tweak antennas position for best performance.. Works great for me. My old one died after 6 Yr and I replaced with this one, same model as before. Sines they were the same model, plug and play, no issues.

  • DO NOT BUY THIS
Two stars for it works as a wifi adapter. According to the internet speed test on google, my phone (wifi) and my computer (LAN) get 29 mbps download and 6 mbps upload. Using this adapter, it was 10 mbps down and 6 up on good days. I play games (overwatch, league.. etc) and the ping would often spike, and turning the wifi on my phone off would help a lot. All the testing is down with only my computer and phone connecting to the modem. Long story short, DO NOT GET THIS PRODUCT. I suspect the spikes are caused by overheating, but half the bandwidth of what the phone get in the size of this large is unacceptable. ... show more

  • You have to force the driver installation or it won't work.
These work great but you'll have to download the driver from the dlink web site and force the driver to install otherwise it won't work. You have to go into device manager and manually select the driver and force the installation. If you do this it will work just like cards that cost 100 dollars.

  • Meh.. Had better experiences with older standards.
Works but drops the signal constantly, and will not support the virtual solutions I need when working from home. I ended up buying a 25FT cat6 cable to connect my computer since this thing was so completely unreliable.
