The Culligan WHR-140 Replacement Filter cartridge will reduce sulfur odor, chlorine, and scale For softer, cleaner skin, and hair. The filter is easy to install with no tools required, and each filter cartridge lasts 10, 000 gallons, or 6 months. This filter cartridge works with all Mulligan filtered shower heads, WSH-C125, WSH-BN125, RDSH-C115, HSH-C135, HSH-BN135, ISH-100, ISH-200c, ISH-300, S-H200-C, S-H200-BN, S-W100-c, S-W100-BN. From the Manufacturer The Culligan WHR-140 filet reduces sulfur odor, chlorine, and scale for softer, cleaner, skin and hair.     • It Does Work!
I've been using these for a few years now, they noticeably affect the hardness of the water, and you can, especially for the first few weeks, really feel the difference..at least we can. So the filter does work, no doubt about it, and all you have to do is shake it out after a few weeks in your sink, to see all of the gunk and brownish-colored impurities it traps. That stuff would otherwise be in your hair and skin - which is just gross (no one should shower or drink unfiltered tap water in this day and age). It removes the chlorine smell and will have a positive effect on your hair and skin over time (if not immediately). A water source filtration system is ideal of course, but if you rent or are unable to buy one, this is the next best thing. My one complaint is that they don't last all that long, it's hard to tell just how long they do work at an optimal level, so I just go by the "feel" of the water (maybe 3 months at best). It is advised to turn it over after a month or two, if not sooner, shake it out and knock it against your sink for a while, to loosen up the particles inside and get some of the dirt out, then run your shower for a minute or two before actually taking a shower (you'll see a lot of brown water come out again initially, before it turns clear again). I would also prefer recyclable materials be used (thus the 4 star rating). ... show more

    • Exactly what we needed...
Well this is specifically the filter we need for our shower head. So it's not like we had options. However with that said we have well water that is extremely high in Magnesium and Iron. We have a whole house filter and a water softener. The tubs get the rust color quickly and easily. If I'm not on top of it the sulfur, rotten egg smell will happen. So without this filter and shower head we have trouble as the wife and I have very thick curly hair. If the water is not filtered well we both have frizzy Afros. You can feel the unfiltered water on your skin as well. Feels as if the soap is never rinsed away. And the smell is terrible. This filter is fantastic...it takes care of all the hard water issues in the shower. Our hair feels great and is manageable, skin feels refreshed and rinsed well. The filter that came with the shower head was used for a year and a half. I could tell once it was full and took it out and shook it, black water, disgusting. Soaked it and took it out side and man handled it to clear it a bit and used it again for a few months. Just got married and purchased a home, yes I'm a cheap arse. I will certainly just buy these every 6 months as Amazon and it's sellers make life too easy. We are proof these work very well as our water is very hard and it gives us great hair and skin. Very well worth the $ to not hear your wife complain on a daily basis that the water is making her hair look like crap. In fact that is a business idea...you pay me a monthly membership fee and your wife can call and complain all she wants to me. I am so good at pretending I'm listening.     • Really Soften water
Great product, easy to install and most importantly soften the water. We live in Saudi Arabia where the water is extremely hard. It is so hard that you are advised to buy water. No one drinks tab water or cook with it here. We only use it for laundry, showers etc. anything for topical cleanse. I use the shower filter in my bathroom and my husband doesn't have one in his bathroom. He has so much calcium deposits from hard water on his tab and his skin is dried out. He has to apply creams to his body immediately after getting out of his shower even though he use dove soap which is by far the most moisturizing soap on the shelve. On the other hand, I use dove soap with my shower filter and do not have to apply creams after a shower. My skin do not dry out and neither does my hair. My hair is soft and does not fall out, break etc like before. If you considering buying this filter, also buy the shower head. That's what I did. ... show more
