It does not mean that the water leaving the system is safer than the water entering the system. A refreshing shower is something we all look forward to every day and sometimes more than once a day. Now that you'll be showering in filtered water, your shower experience will be even more enjoyable! Here's why: Chlorine is an irritant. • Simple to install, great results.
Color: Chrome Style: Yes
I purchased this filter at the same time I purchased a new shower head. I figured, two birds, one stone. Plus, this includes a small roll of Teflon tape, so I didn't need to pick any up for this, or the new shower head. *Score!* This filter unit is rather well built, and appears to be completely metal, except for the filter inside of the housing. Installation couldn't be easier. I installed this filter and my new shower head in around fifteen minutes. The only design issue I found is the hand tightened nut. I believe that it should have been configure for a wrench. It's difficult to tighten enough to keep the entire unit still when attaching a shower head to it. However, the filter seems to be working great. My wife and I both feel like our skin is not as dry and itchy. It must have been caused by the chlorine in our water. Also, the level of soap scum has dropped significantly since I installed this unit. Pros: -Well built. -Easy to access the filter. -Includes Teflon tape. -Easy installation. -Less chlorine. -Less mineral deposits. Cons: -Hand tightened connection nut. (Might be fine for most, but I prefer one that accommodates wrenches.) -Showering is too enjoyable... I believe my shower time has increased by almost 50 percent. (Not necessarily a bad thing.) Summary: If you are looking for a simple to install filter with great results at a low price, you found it here. ... show more

  • Affordable Replacement Filters, Really Works Well.
Color: Chrome Style: Yes
There are so many shower filters to choose from. I have tried a few over the years. The last filter I had was a Vitamin C filter that attached to the shower arm a bit like this one does. It was just that it ran out of Vit C rather quickly and was expensive to refill. This one has been going strong for over a month now and it still going strong. The instruction sheet says to remove the cartridge and flip it over if the flow of water begins to lessen. You will also get some more life out of the filter medium. I can definitely tell that it is reducing the chlorine. My hair and skin feel softer. We have really hard water where I live and this seems to help a little with that too. (if you really need to reduce your hard water you may want to check into an electronic water softener, I have had a clear wave brand one now going strong for 8 years, there is also an Eddy brand here on Amazon that looks good too. I haven't had any scale or lime deposits on the fixtures and tiles since) This in-line shower filter seems to make it even softer feeling. I chose this filter because the replacement filters are available in the Amazon Subscribe and Save store and that gets you anywhere from 5%-15% off your filter when you have it auto shipped. That really makes them much more affordable! ... show more

  • Great filter (buy the chrome version)
Color: Chrome Style: Yes
This filter has really made my showers more enjoyable. There is no more chlorine smell and my water actually looks cleaner (it's much more clear). My hair feels much softer, and putting shampoo in it is a lot less of a task. An unexpected benefit is that I have to clean my shower a lot less, now. There is a mush less scale build-up after showering since I've started using this filter. As for the physical aspects, this filter is very sturdy. For anyone that's hesitant about buying the cheap plastic version, for fear of it breaking, I strongly suggest that you give the chrome version a try. It seems sturdier than "regular plastic". I haven't experienced any leaks while using this filter. I used the teflon tape, but it doesn't seem to be necessary. Also, the filter did negatively affect my water pressure a little, but that's to be expected. ... show more

  • Works for well water
Color: Chrome Style: Yes
This filter was easy enough to put on, although it does fit a little loose, but we fixed that with some plumbers tape. We have well water which contains quite a bit of rust and our showers always felt "dirty"- kind of like you could feel the rust particles even if you couldn't see them and our hair and skin felt awful even after scrubbing with loofahs and what not. We put this filter on the shower head and our hair and skin feel clean again. We do have to change this filter every month, but until we get a whole house system, this seems to be doing the trick for keeping the rusty feeling out of our hair and skin. **Update: It's been almost a full year with this filter and the part where it attaches to the shower arm out of the wall has come loose- like it's stripped out or bent in the washer/nut area, so it has started to leak at that joint. After examining it, it appears it cannot be fixed or maybe I'm just not handy enough to do it. For the year of heavy showering we got out of it, it was great, but I think we'll be trying out a more direct in-line system or just buy the filtered showerhead itself. Part of the problem is that we have a pretty heavy showerhead which I think caused this joint area to weaken. I think with a smaller and lighter showerhead this would still be working great, but one of us is over 6 foot tall, and the other a bit over 5, so our big showerhead gets moved up and down a lot, and this design isn't good for constant adjustment. Otherwise, the filtering of the water is good. ... show more
