This cast iron cooking set is perfect for daily cooking needs. I cook several meals that require oven cooking, the cast iron set is the only choice that makes sense. I also make bread, the cast iron Dutch oven cooking the bread to perfection. Easy to clean. These pans and pots will develop rust, just wash with light soap and warm water, apply salt and scrub away the rust then apply a light coat of oil (olive oil or canola will work) then bake for 15 minutes in oven to seal and your done. I purchased this set as my first cast iron skillet set. It took me a few uses to get accustomed to cooking with cast iron. I can definitely see how people are burning their food using these skillets. There are a few things you need to do to ensure you maintain these skillets. First, you should season this set. They come pre-seasoned, but that is not enough. Research how to preseason cast iron skillets. It takes about 45mins and it will ensure you skillet set forms a durable non-stick surface. It's important to wash, dry, and lightly oil these skillets soon after each use. Lightly oiling these skillets prevents rusting while in storage. I was surprised at how easily stuck-on food washes off. This is due to me pre-seasoning this set as mentioned above. For cooking, I recommend turning the fire down and cooking things slower until you get a good feel for this set. Cast iron distributes heat more evenly and better than other skillets, so cooking on high can and will burn your food fast if you're not watching closely. If you follow these recommendations, you will love this set and it should last you a lifetime. What I like: - Price - Durability - Quality - Includes silicon handle covers (very nice!)
