  • Just what I need
Color: Stainless Steel
This little coffee maker by Cuisinart has no bells or whistles, but if you’re looking for a small, simple drip coffeemaker, this is the one. I decided to part with my Keurig K-Mini Plus. The coffee was never that hot, and never really that good, although I tried many brands. Plus, the pods were getting outrageously expensive. I decided to go back to a small drip coffee maker, and having had good luck with Cuisinart products before, and seeing good reviews, I ordered the 5-cup coffeemaker. It works great. The coffee is excellent and it’s actually hot. The coffeemaker is easy to clean. And it doesn’t take up any space to speak of. I recommend without reservation! ... show more

  • Cuisinart 5 cup coffeemaker
Color: Stainless Steel
This is perfect! A great value for the money. It is a small compact machine and has a durable stainless steel carafe. It has a Pause Brew feature if a cup is needed before brewing finishes. It has automatic shut off after 30 minutes. It makes really great coffee. There is no leaking and the carafe pours cleanly. I did not notice any odor or smell within unit. ... show more

  • Good enough
Color: Stainless Steel
It's not a bad coffee pot, but it's not fantastic. PROS: Appropriate value at the sale price. Nice size for one or two cups. Brews nicely and I like the permanent filter. I don't have any problems with bean overflow or filter mishaps. Simple design, Add the water and grounds, press the button and it brews a good tasting cup of coffee. There are not many gimmicky extras, except the water filter. CONS: The water filter is useless. The filter holder does not mechanically match up to the water reservoir. So you can put it into the water but since there is no seal, it is doing nothing except maybe adding charcoal to your water. No thanks. The top for the reservoir is very prone to falling into the reservoir. I finally just threw it into a drawer where it will probably stay until I retire this unit. ... show more

  • Best Little Coffee Pot on Amazon!
Color: Stainless Steel
I have tried them all (pour over/French press/percolator) to get the same taste/heat from a small coffee maker as I did from my behemoth Behmor (too big/too expensive to replace for one person) but was always disappointed. Until I found this little pot that has it all. When I fill the chamber and add 5 tablespoons of my favorite coffee, I get 2 1/2 (8 oz) coffee cups of HOT, DELICIOUS coffee in about 7 minutes. The just brewed temp is around 160 -170 degrees (using my candy thermometer). To my taste, it's scalding - the way I like it. And the taste is rich, even without a "blooming" phase. Adding icing to the cake, it has an auto turn off. The only negative is that it drips when you pour. Nothing to mull over. This is the one. ... show more

  • Nice improvements over the 4 cup machine
Color: Stainless Steel
We used the Cuisinart 4 cup model for years (and loved it. However, we now need at least 5 full cups of coffee per pot so it was time for a change. This model, DCC-5570, replaces the discontinued 4 cup model with a few enhancements. For example, this machine has a clear removable water reservoir that is easy to fill and clean, an optional easy to use charcoal water filter for removing chemicals and odors from tap water, an easy to see and use blue on/off switch that flashes while coffee is brewing and stops when your coffee is ready, a removable, efficient, nylon commercial style coffee filter, and an easy to clean stainless steel carafe. We installed the provided charcoal water filter and immediately noticed the coffee tasted better. At first I thought using a filter would be inconvenient. However, you only have to change it every 60 days or so. That’s not too bad and the filters are not expensive, worth the price for a better tasting coffee. Finally, one reason we stick with Cuisinart is because their hot plates have a thick coating of paint on them. They don’t tend to rust over time like many machines by competitors. Also, I have broken glass carafes in the past and that doesn’t happen with a stainless steel pot. Finally, I attached a photo of the 4 cup model vs. the 5 cup model for size comparison. Not much difference, neither take up much counter space. Bottom line, while no coffee pot is perfect, this one comes close. Therefore, it warrants a five star rating from this reviewer. Update and small warning…..We have been using this coffee maker for a few weeks now. Unfortunately, we DO NOT get 5 full cups of coffee from it. Should have realized. Here’s why. Our coffee cups hold 8 ozs of coffee. I guess coffee pot manufacturers consider “smaller” cups when identifying how many cups a machine will brew. Using an 8 oz cup, we are getting about 3/12 cups of coffee. Since we need at least 4 full cups to ge satisfied, we have found ourselves brewing a second pot. Defeats the purpose for buying this machine. Still love it, but am now considering simply buying a 10-12 cup pot and leave it at that. ... show more

  • Works great, but cumbersome to use
Color: Stainless Steel
I purchased this Cuisinart model because they'd stopped making their previous 5-cup-timed-burner model. Of all the coffee pots on the market, this one was the best match for their old unit. While it makes a decent cup of coffee, runs relatively quiet, and looks sleek on the countertop, it is cumbersome to use. First off, the lid which closes down over the coffee pot itself is quite stiff at the "latch". I have to use both hands to pop it open. Hopefully, this will get easier with time. Fortunately, if it is not completely closed before operation, it does not interfere with the brewing process. Second, the lid which covers the water reservoir is not permanently attached to the unit. It must be removed to add water, and during removal, it is not uncommon for it to end up inside the reservoir. This reservoir is removable so it can be filled separately; however, my cabinets are such that it's too tall to remove it without pulling the machine near to the counter's edge. So, I simply lift off the cover and add water to it. I've become accustomed to these annoyances; however, when this one fails, I'll look for something different. I hope that the plate the pot sits on has a more durable finish than the previous one (Cuisinart 5-cup-timed-burner). Should this one perform the same, I'll update this review. ... show more
