  • This little Cusinart wine cellar works EXCELLENTLY!
Style: Cellar
The media could not be loaded. QUICK SUMMARY: This Cusinart wine cellar does exactly what I had hoped it would do: it chills my wine bottles 30 degrees below my indoor home temperature (from 76-78 degrees indoors to the setting of 45 degrees inside this wine cellar). I couldn't be more happy! BACKGROUND: I decided to get a compact wine cooler and place it inside an office desk that used to have some computer equipment stored inside of it. The space is rather small, so only an 8-bottle wine cooler will fit the space. The dimensions of this Cusinart model maximized the space I had to work with. METHOD I USED TO TEST THE INDOOR TEMPERATURE: I put a small cup of water inside the unit on the same level as the bottom shelf, where you'd place your white wine bottles (it's coldest towards the bottom). Then, I used a kitchen probe thermometer (which I've ensured is calibrated by testing boiling water with) to read the cup of water. See my uploaded video! WHAT I LIKE: - IT WORKS! My indoor home's temperature is usually between 74-78 degrees depending on the time of day. I have this wine cellar set at 45 degrees and the test water cup I have inside reads slightly less than 45 degrees at the very bottom (where I keep my white wines)! I'm actually astonished because this is better than I had hoped for. I was hoping to get my wine bottles down to at least 50 degrees. - It's got a nice LED light feature if you want to showcase your wine collection (I would only use it to help me read the bottles of wine inside, as it's in a dark location in my living room where the office desk is) - It's got an easy touch control way of setting the interior temperature - It's REALLY QUIET! Quieter than the computer server I had previously installed in this desk. (Note: the background noise you’ll hear from my video is from my two computer servers underneath my desk, not from this unit) - It uses thermoelectric technology, so, no compressor and no need to have it sit upright for a few hours after unpacking it before you plug it in and get to chilling your wine...go ahead and plug it in immediately after unpacking it! WHAT COULD BE BETTER: - The only think I can think of is that the blue LED light that shows the temperature setting is rather bright. If this unit is stored on a kitchen counter, for example, the LED light might be a bit brighter than you'd like (so, cover it with translucent tape to dim the display). IF YOUR UNIT ISN'T COOLING PROPERLY, be sure it's got good ventilation. My desk cabinet space has a couple of inches between the desk interior walls and the exterior walls of this unit. Also, I have 2" space between the back of this wine cellar and my living room wall. CONCLUSION: I'm DELIGHTED at how well this works. I should have bought this years ago to free up room in our garage mini fridge. HIGHLY recommended!!! ... show more

  • Just what we needed!
Style: Cellar
We purchased two of these. One for white and one for red. Both fit inside a buffet cabinet that was empty. Temps, always right on. Sound? We cannot hear them when the buffet is closed or wide open. So far so great! These units have been no issue so far. I probably shouldn't have said that, hopefully the wine gods will intercede fate. ... show more

  • Bought in April -- problem in September fixed with plugging and unplugging
Style: Cellar
I live in Florida where my house in summer is a toasty 79 degrees. Wine isn't happy that hot and suffers heat damage. The criticism of the wine cellar is that it doesn't chill wine down enough. Set it at 55 but it doesn't necessarily achieve that temperature. But it's not a fridge. Knowing this going in, I am pleased to find that the temperature is currently 60 degrees and has never gotten above 65. Totally acceptable for me. I've got my wine happy, and I'm happy. UPDATE: It's now September and my wine is 80 degrees. The cooler stopped working. Light was on but no cool air was coming forth. HOWEVER, I unplugged it. Let it sit and it's back functioning. Don't know why it stopped working but if anyone else has this issue, this might help. ... show more

  • Don't expect less than 57 degrees
Style: Cellar
I was forewarned about the inability of this cooler to acquire the right temperature, but this 6 bottle cooler fits my needs for purpose and price. It doesn't take up much space. The FLAW? It's just NOT going to do any less than 57 degrees. I'm not going to turn my household thermostat down to acquire the desired temperature for my red wines. ... show more

  • Perfectly chilled
Style: Cellar
I am enjoying my Cuisinart wine refrigerator. It fits 8 bottles perfectly. . . all nestled in their respective places. It is whisper quiet. Perfectly sized for a small space that at one time housed my long forgotten phone books. Love the light it provides as well, especially at night when I must find my way into the kitchen for a midnight snack. ... show more

  • Love this little wine frig!
Style: Cellar
With this small frig I can regulate the temperature and the temperature stays constant. I’ve had other wine refrigerators that were terrible and didn’t get cold enough. The size is right for its location in my kitchen and I only use it for white wine.

  • Short life
Style: Cellar
Bought this in November 2020. It worked well until it died in August 2022. I was disappointed with the life span.
