The blinds themselves are pretty good quality, especially for the price. My two gripes are that like most amazon china made crap, the hardware and screws are exactly that....crap. Have extra screws on hand due to head easily stripping. Also the pull cord is cheap plastic.

The pull chain does not hang as neatly as a metal ball chain. In this install, I needed to shorten the chain and use the safety clips for a tidy look. Note the placement of the splice clips. I was very careful to measure the length to remove. Instructions are not in the docs for splicing the pull chain. But the clips are included. Details on shortening the chains is needed. I did not see the tightly folded instruction sheet - it was hiding in plain view, against the small box containing the hardware. So, I installed after figuring out how it works, and it was easy. I like how well the shade works However: 1) In my case, the screws couldn't reach the wood frame at the top. I had to to fetch longer ones. 2) The supplied plain-metal screw-heads don't look nice against the white of the brackets supporting the roller. 3) Installed in the recess of a window, the top doesn't look nice. The rolling mechanism and all the hardware are visible - as well as the inevitable 1 to 2-inch gap between the top of the roller and the top-wall. A cover would have been a nice touch. 4) They failed to include a 2-cent chain bead connector in case one needs to cut the chain shorter. Still, for the price, it's good! The lack of attention to detail probably applies to all the similar shades on Amazon. As I examine the images, they seem to be manufactured at the same factory, but they are branded and package differently. ... show more

The end pieces seem fragile making it a little tricky to install one of them. The 2nd one fit really well. Our 2 windows were about 1/4" different in width. They look good now.

Easy to install, very good quality. Less expensive than the older spring loaded roller shades, and better quality. Definitely the type of blackout shades that I had hoped for. I have two other windows that need new shades and I will most likely purchase more of these.

These shades are good quality. The actual shade is a little smaller than the same "size" i previously had to the window from Ikea. OK for us since it's covering a door window in our family room not a sleeping room. They would be going back if I were installing them in a bedroom . The biggest issue for me was the instructions included to do the install. The "written" instructions were useless. The instructions told you how to measure the opening, but had absolutely no instructions on how to actually install the brackets. I finally looked up my purchase and watched the video. DO THIS BEFORE YOU WASTE an HOUR OF YOUR LIFE. Even with the video, it was a bit unclear how the brackets attached to the shade. After I figured out the 1st one, the 2nd went into place quickly. I would give this a better rating had the instructions been little or no help. ... show more
