Item came nicely packaged with easy instructions. This was easy to install in my outdoor fish pond. However, the air lines wanted to float so I had to weigh them down with light rocks and zip tied hose’s together where they shared a pathway to consolidate hoses near each other. One of my check valves was not working by not allowing air to pass through it and through the air stone, so I messaged the seller. I waited several days with no reply and then called Amazon customer service. They could not send me just the air check valve and instead sent me the entire unit again for a replacement. I took out what I needed and returned the package. Seemed like overkill, but end result is that now all 4 air lines are producing air bubbles as designed. I’d recommend this unit. Works well. I didn’t rate the longevity because I’ve only had it working for a week or so now. I hope this will last a few years at least. Some reviews complained about noise, but I find it to be fairly quiet. You have to expect some noise level but I don’t pay any attention to it. ... show more

The temperatures in Utah have been in the upper 90's and the Koi fish didn't seem to have a lot of energy. I decided to give this brand a try after reading reviews on other brands. After having the system in the pond for just for just one day, it was amazing of how the fish responded. It is now day three and the fish are active in the heat of the day and loving life. My pond has always been clear, but it's strarting to look cleaner. Seriouly, the best purchase I've ever made! I also purchased the artificial rock cove at the same time as a package deal and the cover works great, even though it's hidden behind tall grass. I placed the unit on a flat stone with the cover. This is the 2nd time I've purchased this pond aerator, the previous having lasted 3 years - and I ran it full time, summer, spring, winter, and fall in zone 6b. I'd rather it lasted longer, but otherwise it does a fantastic job of aerating the pond for the fish, and keeping ice and snow from forming in the cold months. Occasionally I did have to scrub algae off the balls, but that took maybe a minute. The pump is very quiet (I keep ours hidden under a fake rock), and the check valves work well. If this one lasts 3 years or longer, exposed to the harsh elements 24/7, I'll be happy. ... show more

I purchased this air pump in August 2013. I have had it outside running for my pond since then and has worked flawlessly. I set it on 2 bricks to keep it off of the ground and put an upside down flower pot over it to keep it from being rained on. I highly recommend the pump. The air stones are a good size and work pretty good but are cheaply made and after about a 6 month to a year they all broke (the plastic nipple for the airline broke off or came out of the air stones). That's not a real problem because air stones are cheap and easy to replace. ... show more

I have 3 of these for my 2800 gallon Koi pond, one Pond4 and 2 Pond2s. I use them in the pond and also the canal which flows water into the pond, they are quiet and can be adjusted for just the right amount of air depending on the season. So far they have held up through 2 summers and 1 winter. I have them covered with a cool looking flower pot which blends well into the surrounding plants and bushes.
