  • Pretty easy process if this is the right SSD for your machine.
Capacity: 500 GB
Make sure what type of drive you are replacing. Check the official specs, better yet, look at the current drive since they sometimes change specs in the middle of a model run. This product is a M.2 NVMe 2280 SSD. It is 'stick-like' instead of a more common 'business card-like' shape. On one end of the drive, there are many tiny gold contacts with a gap towards one edge. If yours has no gap, this is the wrong drive for you. "No gap, no go". Buy a case to hold the SSD. You need it to hold the SSD and connect it on a USB port while it is outside your PC being filled with data. Later, after you install the new SSD, you'll want someplace to hold the old SSD, so you STILL need the case to swap the new for the old, and protect the data on the old drive, which is now a full backup of your data as of the date you did all this. Now, install the new SSD in the holder and plug it into a USB port. Go to the web-site and download the software. Start the software, read and answer the few questions, sit back and relax for about a half hour. Now swap the new and old drive. I use nitrile rubber gloves to do this to avoid static electricity. Otherwise, touch something metal FIRST before touching the SSDs. Close up your computer and turn it on. ... show more

  • Great secondary drive if your laptop has a slot for it
Capacity: 2 TB
I like keeping my main data and games off of the system drive in case of any issues, so this was a must-have. I have an Alienware M15 R5 Ryzen and it came with a second empty M.2 slot. This easily fits in and you can format it and add a drive letter under Windows. It's been working great to hold my Steam library and Stable Diffusion models! ... show more

  • Works fine in Synology DS920+
Capacity: 500 GB
Installed easily in my Synology DS920+. It complained about the uncertified 3rd party (read: not Synology marked-up) drive cache, but it worked. I ran tests on it for several hours and they tested fine and have been problem-free since. I'd hoped it would quieten the drives allowing less head thrashing on writes, but that doesn't seem to be the case. ... show more

  • So easy a noob can do it
Capacity: 1 TB
I was worried about getting crucial RAM and an SSD to set them up by myself, but it wasn’t anything a couple proper YouTube searches couldn’t teach me. I put this on my Lenovo gaming laptop and made it the boot drive and windows turns on and runs so fast I hardly have time to blink. If you can get RAM, definitely do that. ... show more

  • Works great in a synology nas
Capacity: 500 GB
Bought 2 of these to put into my new synology nas and have been very happy with the results.

  • Good value fast SSD
Capacity: 1 TB
Upgraded a MacBook Pro with this Crucial SSD, as it was one of the supported options by the adapter card. There are faster drives out there but they cost more - much more.

  • Great for a NAS filer
Capacity: 1 TB
I bought this to try an ODroid M1 and the throughput is amazing. It beats micro SD cards by an order of magnitude and comes close to an x86 tower with an internal NVMe. It definitely depends what computer you test this with because if it is attached as external storage via USB3, throughput is severely limited. ... show more

  • Great Laptop Upgrade!
Capacity: 1 TB
This is the single best upgrade for an M.2 PCIe compatible computer you can invest in. There are YouTube videos to guide you through instillation and cloning your hard drive. My biggest problem was changing the BIOS configuration to boot from the SSD. (Needed to push F10 to get it to accept the change. A problem with not having to alter BIOS settings in years...) My Core i5 Laptop now boots in about 15 to 20 seconds. ... show more
