Description

Hold on tight, the Crucial T705 Gen5 NVMe SSD is taking Gen5 performance to the max. With sequential reads and writes up to 13,600MB/s and 10,600MB/s (up to 1,400K/1,750K IOPS random reads/writes), the T705 offers faster gaming, video editing, 3D rendering and heavy workload application processing. Built with Micron232-layer TLC NAND3 and ready for use with your motherboard’s heatsink, the Crucial T705 Gen5 SSD is fully optimized for performance, takes full advantage of MicrosoftDirectStorage, and is backward compatible with Gen3 and Gen4 motherboards. With SSD speeds nearly 2x faster than Gen4, you’ll never look back from the Crucial T705! Non-heatsink versions of the Crucial T705 must be installed with a motherboard or alternate heatsink to achieve optimal performance. Typical I/O performance as measured using CrystalDiskMark® with a queue depth of 512 and write cache enabled. Windows 11 Core isolation disabled for performance measurement. Fresh out-of-box (FOB) state is assumed. For performance measurement purposes, the SSD may be restored to FOB state using the secure erase command. System variations will affect measured results. See Micron.com/products/nand-flash for more information. Under typical conditions for airflow and ambient temperature, our pre-installed premium heatsink allows the T705 Gen5 SSD to run at max workload without the need to thermal throttle. Comparisons made to SSD temperatures without a cooling apparatus. Please ensure your drive has proper airflow for maximum performance. Compared to Crucial T500 Gen4 NVMe® SSD listed speed of 7,400MB/s. Actual speed may vary. Some storage capacity is used for formatting and other purposes and is not available for data storage. 1GB equals 1 billion bytes. Compared to Gen5 SSD performance without DirectStorage, based on internal test results with supported GPU that uses GPU decompression. Compared to Crucial MX500 SATA SSD listed speed of 560MB/s. Actual speed may vary. Fresh-out-of-box (FOB) performance measured with a typical Microsoft workload compared to the FOB average performance of Micron 3400 & 3500 SSDs with similar workloads. Warranty valid for 5 years from the original date of purchase or before writing the maximum total bytes written (TBW) as published in the product datasheet and as measured in the product’s SMART data, whichever comes first. One-month complimentary Adobe® Creative Cloud personal All Apps plan available with eligible Crucial SSD purchase. Adobe Creative Cloud ID and Crucial product registration required for redemption. Eligible Crucial T705 SSDs: CT1000T705SSD3, CT2000T705SSD3, CT4000T705SSD3, CT1000T705SSD5, CT2000T705SSD5, CT4000T705SSD5 or CT2000T705SSD5A must be purchased between March 12 and December 31, 2024. Offer limited to one redemption per eligible Crucial SSD purchase and registration; up to two per Adobe Creative Cloud user account, subject to acceptance of applicable Terms of Use, while activation code supplies last. Additional terms and conditions may apply. Micron Technology reserves the right to change or discontinue this offer at any time without notice. To ensure optimal performance and maintain your T705 SSD’s warranty when installing with an in-motherboard heatsink, you must not remove the copper-clad label. Compared to an average of the bandwidth for Micron 3400 & 3500 SSDs.

  • Nice, fast storage...
Capacity: 1TB Style: T700
Make sure you slot this into the Pcie5 slot of your motherboard! I have used this drive in an Intel z-790-f motherboard and an AMD x670-e motherboard, and it was detected right away, no issues at all. Linux (Fedora 40) sees the drives and installed no problem. Speeds pretty much match what's advertised, so no issues there. Just make sure when you put this in a newer motherboard, that you pull the sticker off of the head sink pads when installing the drive, that can be easy to miss. These drives get hot so make sure it's installed properly. The motherboard cooling solutions work pretty well, so the drive getting hot shouldn't be an issue. ... show more

  • Outstanding, but you may not get these speeds.
Capacity: 1TB Style: T705
Very fast and at a comparatively good price. It can heat up when using it a lot. My motherboard has heatsinks, if your doesn't, you might want to consider buying this with the heat sink. BE SURE YOUR MB SUPPORTS GEN5 M.2, IT PROBABLY DOES NOT or you are wasting your money. When you go to Crucial and put your MB in, Micron (makers of Crucial) will likely say it will work with your MB, which it will, but not at gen5 speeds. If it doesn't and you want fast speeds, checkout the WD Black SN850X. It's the fastest gen4 I have found. ... show more

  • These are the bees knees when you need to vomit data fast, throughout all your buses
Capacity: 2TB Style: T700
Easy to install, cool, and stupidly fast. These guys will assure your cpu and data buses are never thirsty for bits. Rest assured that your 14th gen intel CPUs will receive all the data they need, even while they are baking in their own thermal paste trying to keep themselves from overheating during minecraft with shaders on. ... show more

  • Great value for your money
Capacity: 4TB Style: T700 W/Heatsink
I purchased a new computer and it only came with a single 1TB SSD.. Considering I'm a massive gamer I knew immediately it was going to be an issue.. I settled on an External drive with a fair bit of memory 8 TB's and that filled my needs for a while, but I noticed that some games had stuttering and lag, which considering the specs on my system shouldn't have been happening.. RTX4090, 64 GB of ram, etc etc etc etc.. So I narrowed down the likely causes to the External HDD, so I knew I needed to remedy that situation asap.. After searching around I settled on the Crucial T700,, highly rated, and reviewed.. The price is hefty but gaming isn't a cheap hobby, if you want to play like a pro, you gotta pay like a pro.. The install was super easy, plug and play pretty much, the only issue arose from trying to format the drive for use.. after a half hour and numerous youtube videos I discovered that I had forgotten to name the drive, after feeling like an idiot, I had my harddrive installed and ready to roll.. Download speeds have never been faster, I've always had issues with steam download times, normally stuff that my internet speeds should have done in minutes would take an hour or more, with the Crucial it's down to taking minutes again.. I honestly couldn't be happier with this product.. If had another slot on my board I'd pick up another and never have to worry about uninstalling and installing games again.. Extremely happy with this purchase.. ... show more

  • SUPER FAST - N0 HEAT ISSUES - CONFIGURE IT LIKE THIS.
Capacity: 2TB Style: T705 W/White Heatsink
Had no issues with installation, plug and play. Of course you better have a Gen5 slot or don't waste your money. Everyone saying it runs hot, you're not cranking 14k+ speeds without some heat. I think their boxes don't have enough circulation and with the M.2 sandwiched between the CPU and the GPU, that is a lot of heat in the box after it leaves those two components. It then needs to leave the box or you run the risk of it affecting other things. My setup, AIO liquid cooler on the 7950 CPU, pulling the heat out of the area exhausted thru the top of the box and Vertical mounted 4090 GPU giving this drive more space for air flow between the board and GPU... and yes I got the white one to match. :) Buying a second one, as my board has (2) Gen5 slots. ... show more

  • Speed monster!!!
Capacity: 1TB Style: T705
I'm very pleased with my purchase, this drive the T705 1tb is very fast paired with my Ryzen 9 7950X3D. It now takes my computer longer to post the BIOS than loading windows. Literally, the windows logon screen appears right after the Motherboard is done posting, I used to see the MB screen logo while windows loaded, now I don't see it cause it loads faster than the logo screen appears. If I had known this drive was so fast, I would have ordered the 2tb version for a little more money. But this is good enough, I'm not a gamer, so I don't need all that extra capacity. Buy this with your eyes closed, as long as you know your motherboard supports it. ... show more

  • The heatsink on the T705 is horrible -- drive is too hot even at idle
Capacity: 2TB Style: T705 W/Heatsink
Before this drive I had a Corsair MP700 PCIE 5.0 drive with a third-party heatsink+fan combo on it that kept it between 33-38C during normal workloads. This T705 with heatsink sits at 58-62C at idle load in a very well-cooled Hyte Y70 case. HUGE disappointment. I wish I bought the non-heatsink version so I could have slapped on the same $15 cooler+fan that I had on the Corsair. There doesn't appear to be a way to remove the heatsink from this model, so I highly recommend avoiding the heatsink version at all costs and get the T705 without a heatsink and buy a heatsink with a fan on it for $15. You'll thank me. Before it gets too hot, I get the full advertised speeds on my T705 until the heat throttling kicks in and slows it down. I hate this drive's heatsink and wish I could exchange it but it's too late. EDIT: I spoke at length with Crucial support a week after first using. After grilling me for over 30 minutes, they blamed the ridiculous heat (80C on heavy load, 60C at idle) on the fact that I keep my computer on overnight. I suspect even if I turn it off at night that it will have the same issue. None of my other drives, including another PCIe 5.0 drive I have from Corsair, have this heat problem in the same machine. The Corsair that I used to use as my boot would be on 24/7 and never got over 45C with the $15 fan/heatsink combo I had on it. So 1 star for the T705 with horrible heatsink, and 1 star for their poor policy of not allowing customers with this problem to exchange for the non heatsink version so they could get one with a fan on it to keep it cool. They said even if it fails they would replace with another heatsink version only, and if it was too hot for too long, it would be MY fault and void my warranty. My advice: get the T705 without the heatsink and get a heatsink with a fan on it, or avoid Crucial altogether. ... show more
