Replacing on YJ with all new doorman cables. The new cables are a little shorter than OEM so needed new bracket bc the old one was too rusty for adjustment. This bracket is very nice except- it's also shorter than oem. Bottom line is I don't know if it will have the range needed to work. The shorter cables and shorter bracket may not be compatible, despite all being doorman YJ products. Prob cut adj bolt off old bracket and weld threaded rod on for longer range. ... show more

Fit my 91 YJ perfectly. Install took ten minutes, with most of that fighting to remove the rusty old one. I can now stop putting my Jeep into gear to park for the first time since owning it.

    • Works on a 01 Jeep Cherokee
If you are one of the Cherokee owners (2001 and older), you will need this. The day will arrive (in a northern climate) when this nut rusts to the threaded rod and you will not be able to adjust your emergency brakes. This adjuster works great. Of note, the horizontal part that has the cables rest in it (the T part) will NOT fit a Cherokee as it is too large/wide. You will have to re-use your old one. If your old one is bad, I have seen it for sale on on-line stores that specialize in Jeep parts. This Adjuster is also the best price I've seen too at $13. Easy to install, takes 2 minutes and it works fine. I would have liked to have had heavier steel but this will work for the price.

    • This worked on my 1987 Ford F250 Supercab.....mostly
When adjusting the Parking brake on my 1987 Ford F250 Supercab 4 X 4 Diesel, the nut had seized and of course the busted the adjustment bolt right off. I got this and used everything but the cross bar for the 2 Parking brake cables coming from the rear drums. I used the one that came with the truck, changed the nut to a locking one and added a spherical washer so that cross bar could pivot with the cabled when adjusted. It saved me a lot of money and it's worked out great. You can buy one (if you can find it) for around $80 so this is a no brainer. ... show more
