    • It's not luxurious, but it functions perfectly as a crossbar.
I don't usually write reviews, but I did a driving test after installation and found that there was almost no noise, so I am leaving a review. As I already said, there is surprisingly no noise while driving. I have used a variety of crossbars in various car models, but this is the first crossbar that is as quiet as this one. In terms of quietness, I am very satisfied. Installation was easy as long as all parts fit well. The only thing I'm worried about is that it's unclear how tight the fixing nut should be. I wanted to safely tighten it as much as I could, but since the Tesla installation method is to fix it to the roof glass, I was worried that if I tightened it too hard, the glass would break, so I tightened it as much as I could with my fingers and then tightened it an additional 90 degrees with a wrench. I have not yet traveled with a kayak or cargo box, but after the installation process and subsequent test drive, I am very satisfied with the product for the price. ... show more

Despite the very minimal instructions this product was very easy to install on 2021 Tesla Model Y. It’s very sturdy and looks good. Only complaint is whistling sound above 50 mph. However I purchased 3 rhino rack vortex strips on Amazon which easily install on top of the existing rubber strip on the front rail (see photo) and the whistling sound is now gone. Slightly trimmed one of the strips for proper fit. So far I’ve only transported a surfboard about 30 miles on the freeway, but this product seems great so far and much more reasonably priced than the Tesla version. ... show more

The installation was easy and straight forward. I watch the video that was on the sales page. The orange tool that suppose to lift the weather strip did not work that well at all. It just pushes it in more and more. I end up grabbing a razor blade and extremely careful not the cut the rubber strip or scratch the paint. During installation, I am suppose to tighten to a point of the allen wrench reach the extended tab. The nut stripped and won't tighten anymore before it was anywhere near what the video shown. Luckily there was 5 nuts that came in the packaging. The next 4 I tighten to where I think it is tight enough and stopped. Finished the installation within 20 mins with my 10 year old son. The fit and finish was not good either, I took some pictures and you can see the gap and off alignment. I guess it is as good as a tesla build quality, and that is not a good thing. If the tesla OEM isn't charge $500, i would have returned these and go with OEM. ... show more

    • Good option to save some money
Installation was pretty easy. Did not add any noticeable noise when driving. The finish trim is less than perfect, but at a fraction of cost of Tesla parts, I'd recommend it.

    • Does not fit properly
The cross bars do not line up (front to back) properly. The front bar is tilted forward to far therefore nothing will sit level. It's usable but is not right.

    • Exactly that cheap for a reason!
Caps dont line up., extra screws so the ones that dont screw you replace it and no key locks. Cheap for a reason... and if it rattles dont forget to tighten the screws on the side of the crossbars. Color should last since is on aluminum but the rubber stripes hopefully wont fade. Mine they are so resided with the aluminum bar, it wont work as intended. Over a third of OEM and its a value. If I paid three times as much, I would want perfect. ... show more

    • As good as the OEM version
I was hesitant to buy these because of people breaking the glass roof while installing, and because of complaints of noise. Neither one of those seemed worth the savings. I don't know if we got lucky or what, but I rarely hear any noise (even at 75+ MPH) and in the few instances where we hear the whistle, it's not very loud or bothersome. They look as good as the OEM version, so a great value at this price. I didn't think installation was as easy as others described. It took me about 30 minutes. The couple of tough parts were: (1) I didn't see arrows on the roof, which is where these align, so I had to guess where to put them (the bar will only fit when they're in the right place); and (2) the tool they provide for pulling the rubber back was not great (a thin laminated card from my wallet worked much better). ... show more

The rack itself seems like it's built well, sturdy and the installation is very simple. The hardest part is converting the mm to inches and making sure the spacing from the edge of the glass is correct. When installing the bracket it goes UNDER the glass and onto the metal frame beneath the pano glass. I'm almost certain the people who complain that it broke their glass installed in on the glass without going under it. Follow the directions carefully. I took this and strapped 3 snowboards on it and drove it over 4 hours ago 80-90mph and it stays on perfectly fine. Wind noise is to be expected but it's not that bad. Good rack. ... show more
