I've never owned a vinyl cutter before. So this is my first one. You'd think as a first time, I'd be more lenient on it since I have nothing to compare to. Nope. Here are the problems I have with this trash. 1. Windows connection problems. All day. Every day. Bluetooth fails to connect on my windows laptop. Connects for 2 seconds, then disconnects. Cannot reconnect. Have to delete and re-add device. After 10 tries, still won't stay connected. 2. Mac connection problems. Bluetooth connects to mac for about 10 seconds and the disconnects. OMG! 10 seconds! Better than the 2 seconds on a Windows device! Still can't reconnect. Have to delete and re-add device. After 3 attempts, it finally stays connected for no reason. No process was changed in that connection. 3. USB connection. A USB does not need "connection" other than physically plugging the cable in. Somehow the software has it spinning and waiting for the "connection" to the device. And somehow even after a few seconds of waiting, it fails to "connect". I'm sitting there stupidly unplugging and replugging USB cable. Oh, and the software keeps bugging me to switch to bluetooth and defaults to the bluetooth option while in the Make prompts. I would if bluetooth worked... 4. Calibration just doesn't work on Windows. After I load the printed calibration placed on the mat and I can see it get loaded by the cricut, that's it. Nothing happens after that. Wizard doesn't change, play button on cricut doesn't light up. Finally worked when it connects to a Mac 5. Looked up all these connection problems and you are told to remove all other bluetooth devices paired with your computer because it needs to be the only device in the paired devices list. This is not a solution. Asking us to disconnect all bluetooth devices is absurd. I've only just read about all the reddit discussions of people getting their devices bricked and Cricut support staff blatantly saying they will deactivate the device if they try to sell it. This is unacceptable. There are countless stories of people getting their devices bricked for simply just loaning to a friend. All of this R&D went into security just so they can force people to buy new devices from them but I CAN'T EVEN GET THE CONNECTION TO WORK. This is absolutely not how you make a product or run a business. Company is scum. ... show more

Love using my Explore 3. Easy to use, cuts well, can do so many different crafting on this cutting machine. It looks really good and I love the color. I also love that it has the hidden compartment for your blades & cricut tools. Recommend for the money

My daughter has a Chromebook, after installing the design space on her machine, she convinced me to buy one for her. She struggled with it for a couple of hours with no luck, and then asked for my help. I struggled for another hour, before calling and holding for Cricut support for another 30 minutes. After few short questions, "I am sorry sir, but Cricut is not compatible with Chromebook" The app did install, account was created and the Explore 3 was registered on Cricut.com, all through the app. Just whenever you want to use it, it's asking to Activate, and there is no response from the activate button. Why make an app available for Chromebook if the first thing tech support tells you when you call "Not compatible with Chromebook" ??? *** Edit from 1 to 4 stars *** Once we activated the Cricut from a windows machine, my daughter was able to send cuts from a Chromebook. ... show more
