  • Great garage addition
Size: 15L
This thing is amazing - very large, accommodated my 2 barrel carb easily. I’ve heard these things are loud, but it wasn’t as loud as I expected. Slow to heat but relatively stable temperatures maintained once it hit target. Cleans like you wouldn’t believe - carb came out looking new! Going to be using this a lot for my other car projects when I want to deep clean a part. ... show more

  • My First Day Review With Updates To Follow
Size: 15L
Ordered this cleaner after researching and then watching an excellent demo on YT Steve's Small Engine Saloon. Price with discount was very fair. Seller had excellent reviews especially for customer service. Amazon was supposed to ship it in an added plain Amazon box which I had checked off in my order but they did not. Bottom of box had damage on one bottom side from an apparent drop but is very well protected inside and around cleaner and no damage was done. I did my initial set up reading the very vague instructions first. I filled unit with warm water and the unit doesn't seem to heat unless the timer is set and unit turned on to start cleaning action. I will do a follow up on that. Initial heating is very slow. Cleaner only displays temp in centigrade but easy to get used to. I used a cooking thermometer which reads in both units to compare reading and get myself acclimated to what I wanted to set temp to which is very accurate on the digital read out. First use was to fill unit completely above included basket with warm water and a small amount of Dawn dish wash soap. There is no fill line on inside of unit and instructions do not say that it is important to fill completely like many people say is important. I watched the little demo video on the product ad and it shows them only filling the unit about 2 inches just above the eye glasses they were cleaning! Everything else I read about ultrasonic cleaners warns against under filling! I decided to clean a couple combs, brushes, coins and misc. and was not impressed initially but knew I needed to educate myself on how to use it properly. My main usage will be using it in my home shop restoring and cleaning everything mechanical, carbs, machined lathe and milling machine parts and many restoration projects. Ultrasonic cleaners have been around since the late 1930's early 1940's so I know they are a good investment as long as it is a descent unit as I believe this one will be for my use. In conclusion, I now know my initial mistakes, mainly because of the poor info that comes with most of these units. First- it is very important to degas your water and cleaning solution. Second-experiment to find the correct cleaning solution you will need for what you are cleaning. Third-which will take a lot of trial and error, know what time and temperature works best with the item and solution, be it water, solvents, or flammables being used and the correct way to put them in the tank without contaminating your water and not expelling fumes. Best advise is to NOT USE FLAMABLES unless your unit is designed for it, which this unit is NOT! I will definitely be doing future reviews and updates on my cleaning projects using this ultrasonic cleaner and giving my no BS opinion and progress. Hope this was helpful. Thank you, DoneWrenching. • easy to use and effective
Size: 2L
I've used it several times and it works great, only problem I have had is the temperature setting will just heat to the set temperature and then shut off, it won't maintain the temp. If you do a temp setting and a timer setting, at least the one time I did set both, the heat did not shut off and continued to heat the liquid until I pressed the power button under the temp setting. Other than that, it works great but I do make sure to turn the main power off when it's not being used (the switch on the back) ... show more

  • Extreme Fail! But, maybe not...
Size: 15L
I spent a lot of time researching Ultrasonic Cleaners. After ordering this one I stocked up on cleaning supplies. I asked friends how they use theirs. I spent no small amount of time clearing a space just for this unit in my garage. I was very careful to add distilled water only up to the fill line and made a mild cleaning solution according to the many suggestions found here and other sources. I found some old, grimy tools that could use a good cleaning before being put back into service. In a worse case scenario the tools would be damaged beyond use. An even more worse case scenario happened, it didn't work! Switching the main power on resulted in a whole lot of nothing. The rocker switch on the back would not remain lit. It was difficult to move from Off to On, and, from On back to Off. Puttering with the switch a little and gently holding it "Onish" it would temporarily light, letting it go would make it go dark again. Do these cleaners go through any Quality Checks before shipping? I'm sure mine would have failed before being packaged. UPDATE: 02/02/2021 I exchanged the unit described above without any trouble. Amazon's return policy makes it very easy, for that I am grateful. I am NOT grateful to USPS. We've all been working and living under the Covid conditions for almost a year as of this writing. I think by now USPS would have gotten their act together and modified delivery dates to reflect almost certain delays, for nearly everything they ship. I would suggest Amazon put a little pressure on the USPS to do better on delivery times, or, maybe it's time to find another carrier to take over the free shipping that Amazon offers. About that replacement... It appears to have been someone else's return. Compared to the first unit, this one wasn't packed as neatly. Upside down in the box, protective plastic bags and an adhesive covering were missing from the box. The instruction manual appears to have been in someone's back pocket for a little while, judging by the way it was bent and dog eared. There was also a hint that water had been put in the tank, drained, but not wiped up very well. Before taking it out of the box I checked the main power switch on the back of the unit. It made the appropriate switch noises and felt the way a good switch should. So, I went ahead and unpacked it. It was set up on the table, filled, then plugged in. Everything behaved the way I expected without any disturbing surprises. I dumped some filthy, worn out ratchet wrench sockets and let them clean for a while. While they didn't come out brand new looking, they were far better than they were when I put them in. I started this review with the first failed unit, giving it only one star. I've added a couple more stars to that rating for the replacement cleaner. Time will tell if it continues to work properly. If you don't see any additional complaints, please know that all is well and my cleaner is working fine. ... show more
