This is a cute little craft kit and easy to do. My daughter really enjoyed layering sand and making fun designs. My only complaint is I ordered the Dragon, but was sent the alien. It appears the products and listing were changed after I ordered. That was a bit disappointing, but it didn't take away from the fun. I have gotten several other products from this brand and really enjoy doing them with my kids. I like the different colored sands provided, though one or two more colors would have been great, all the fun stickers and the little alien figure. I keep Art projects on a shelf in the event of a rainy day and they never fail to disappoint. Picked this up for my son (7) and he had a great time adding the sand just right so he made it look as close to the box as possible. It now sits in his bedroom and the glow in the dark alien is pretty cool. I received the wrong one which was annoying, but I won't hold it against it! This is a super fun kit to do for anybody, young or old. The colors are really nice and they include a funnel so getting the sand inside of the shaped contained isn't a problem, I would put news papers down if a younger child is doing it though. They include stickers which stick really well. However they include little gluey circles to attach the cardboard/foam components and after a day they failed and the wings fell off, so I'd just be aware of that and use tape instead, but it's still a great kit, for the price I'd definitely recommend it! ... show more

My kids are 6, 4, and almost 2, so this craft is really only age-appropriate for one of them. That said, we all had fun assembling it! They each got a baggie of sand and took turns adding layers (with help, obviously). They all got to put on some stickers and adding the cute little alien was a great final touch. The end result actually looks really darn neat, though the only thing that really glows in the dark is the alien. We were quick to figure out that tipping it even a little does result in the topmost layers of sand mixing together. I know it won’t be long before the sand is completely blended because my kids simply can’t keep their hands off of things like this, but I believe making it was time well spent! ... show more

This was much smaller than I thought but at the cheap price, that's acceptable. SO the rocket comes as a clear plastic piece with a indention in the front that you place the alien in and he just stands there. There's no door or anything holding him in so if you want him to stay in place you could superglue, hot glue, or put putty on the bottom of his feet. Again- for the price that's no complaint from me at all! It was fun pouring the sand in and making my own design. I recommend putting the stickers on first as if you tilt this after filling, it'll mess with your sand design. Same if you drop it, it'll really mess up your design but that's all sand art things not just this one. This is pretty good quality and super adorable. For the price point I'm super pleased and love the little alien and his ship! ... show more
