I’ve used a butter dish for several years now and needed a switch up. This caught my eye and thought it was beautiful. Price can be a deal breaker for me so I just sat on this one. The price came down for Prime Day so I jumped on it. I was not sorry! It’s beautiful! Some bad reviews are noticed but in my opinion, if you read up on the product, all your questions would be answered. It’s an off white color. It’s Large! Makes my old one look tiny! The lid DOES NOT seal. There is NO silicone ring. (Think candy jar) I believe the “handle” knob is more for decoration. (Some commented that it’s not big enough as a handle) I just grab the whole lid to lift off. The lid does slide around on the base but will not slide off. I use 2 hands to move the jar as it is a bit heavy. The design is simple and beautiful. It’s hand made and included in a note in the purchase, states this. I have not found any bubbles or imperfections. Even if I did, they would add to the uniqueness of it. All this does not deter me from giving a 5 star review. The design is beautiful. It’s simple and fits in my kitchen decor perfectly! I recommend you read all the info given BEFORE you purchase so you know exactly what you’re getting. Bought for my husband as a joke because his always says I don't fill butter dish. Now he can have a whole pound of butter instead of just one stick. Looks great in our farmhouse kitchen. A pound of butter is a great fit, the seal is ok (not perfect) just glass on glass, butter does get nice and soft and spreads easily. It has great function in any kitchen for money and does make a great gift for housewarming, bridal shower or kitchen redo. I recommend this butter dish. ... show more

Nice design. Sturdy. Much larger than I had thought, but that's not necessarily a bad thing other than counter space in my tiny kitchen. Not a negative, just something to be aware of. My only criticism is that I wish the lid was a bit more snug. The guiding nodules on the bottom of the lid leave A LOT of room for shifting and moving. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I'm so super picky and I'll admit, I've been looking for the perfect butter dish for years now 😂 First of all, this is so cute. I love the dairy cow, the barn, the 2 flowers that remind me of my favorite, amd the saying on the side, "Spread the Love" ! I like that it has a lid with a nob on the top, that way I'm not trying to pick it up and put the lid back on with buttery fingers, never fails - I'm a mess. && I love that it holds the butter rather than just setting it on a flat dish like the old one Mema used to have. The color is a creamy color which I love, not too white but not too tan or yellow. It's a pretty decent sized butter dish. I'd say it fits about 2 sticks of butter. The paper that came with it stated that each butter dish is hand made, therefore they all have their own ✨️uniqueness✨️ so they'll all be slightly different in their own little way, but it's still the same as the pictures! It doesn't have a seal I'd that's what you're lookin for. We go through enough butter to not need a seal on our lid hahah. Everything this butterdish is, is everything I wanted!🥰 ... show more

My fault for not paying attention to the dimensions. It's very heavy and thick and not white but more a cream or light beige color which I don't mind. It's really pretty. I just needed something to hold a normal stick of butter from a 1lb package. This could hold two sticks side-by-side and one across the top! I don't know why people are complaining about the lid. No there is not a tight seal but the weight of the lid gives it good, safe coverage. If I had read and paid attention to the descriptions and reviews I would have known what I was getting. I admit after looking at a lot of butter keepers I looked at the photo and chose this one because it was so darn cute. It is a well made very pretty product for the price! ... show more

Wonderful design and craftmanship. I just wish it was made in the USA. Other than that, it is a true butter crock. I've had this crock for about a week and I've kept the butter at room temperature. The butter has not melted but is very soft. The most important thing is that it has not gone rancid. I put in 3 sticks of butter then when it gets to room temperature, I take the back of a spoon and press it together to make one block. It is not that simple to buy one pound blocks of butter. I did manage to find 8 oz. blocks, but that's just aesthetics and I don't feel like spending $$$ more for something that is in actuality, easier to make and more cost efficient than a 4 oz. cube.
