I purchased this just for the sole purpose of attaching it to my recliner for a cup of coffee and a place to set my remote and phone. It clips on and adjusts easily. Holds firmly into place as well. It came with a rubber coaster, which looks like a slice of lemon. The coaster works well and is washable. I was thankful for this little cute coaster because I can set heavy cups of coffee or a tall glass of milk on the tray with NO worries. So I had one of these before from an online shopping company but it broke within a year. This one is made of plastic rather than wood so hopefully it will last longer. It has a textured surface and it was easy to set up. The springs on the arms are very sturdy so it took a little effort as the arm of my chair is wide.. The fit is snug and stays in place. I have used it for meals and to place drinks and so far so good. It can hold a medium sized plate probably about 8-9drinking glasses( just to give you and idea of its capacity. It is great for tv remotes and it can substitute for a writing area too!! I just gave a lower star rating at the end as it feels like a cheap plastic. It is worth buying though and clean up is a breeze. The non slip coaster that it comes with is really handy too ... show more

Fits perfectly on the arm of my living room chairs. I thought it was going to be real wood but it's plastic. blends in VERY well with my dark wood though! The arms seem to be able to adjust tightly to a multitude of arm sizes and they are bluntly serrated so they grip and don't slide!
