The kit was the cheapest part of this build. Expect to spend significantly more if you use quality materials, which you absolutely should. The quality of the finished product is directly tied to it. I'm extremely pleased with how mine turned out. This was not a weekend project but should be doable by anyone that is patient and competent. The hardware supplied was complete and high quality. The instructions, both written and in their youtube video were comprehensive and easy to understand. I modified mine to match the style of my desk for my home office/study conversion that I'm doing with my spare room. The media could not be loaded. Hardware and instructions were great. I used plywood from Home Depot and painted it white. I decided to put bookshelves around it as well. Have had it for a year and one of the screws failed, and I contacted the company and they sent replacements.

Size: Full - Vertical
This is extremely sturdy and the instructions were very thorough. The only change I recommend is to NOT screw into the end of side grain of plywood. There is one piece at the end of the platform that is better as solid wood and not plywood for this reason.

The great thing was the instructions were extremely detailed. The only thing we didn't like was that the steps would skip around the book. Other than that, it was easy to follow.

You will need some decent woodworking skills and two people for parts of the build. The result is a nice bed, with durable hardware. You might want to dress up the outside cabinet a bit. We liked it so much, that we ordered two more. Amazon Delivery dropped the packages at the wrong address, no idea where, but Amazon customer service is being obtuse about "investigating". Still waiting over a week later for the last two kits. Since we have the instructions from the first bed, we'll be able to get started on the cut list and hopefully the other kits will arrive soon. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Two novice woodworkers able to figure it out. Watch the videos carefully and read every step 5 times. Recommend buying quality wood, I think we were $800 total on this project. We haven’t styled it yet, but works great so far as a guest bed in the baby room. Capitalizing on a small space.
