    • Seems to overheat - glows red!
I write this review in order to cause others to comment. Please do so if you’re so inclined. I bought this product for a very different reason in an industrial application. It is not part of a 3-D printer solution. I need to heat an aluminum block which was actually attached to a nozzle for the fabrication of violin rosin. This heater was actually set a 12 V DC. That is half of it’s rated power. What happened was that the heater started to glow very red is it overheating and burning up on its own. I suppose this is because in the 3-D printer application the FET controller will actually duty cycle this particular heater cartridge. Instead, I was applying the 12 V DC full full on. At the time that it was glowing, bright, orange red, his actual temperature output dropped. That is, it was less than temperature that was achieved, when only third of the full voltage 8 vaults was applied. In that instance, it had achieved 400-500°. I’m particularly interested in knowing if this type of heater is truly able to sustain 1000° for 24 V DC. It’s nowhere in the specifications or in the technical data that this shouldn’t be the case. Works good, install was a little difficult because it didn't come with the plugs for the mainboard, I had to splice the wires into a plug in order for it to work

I got these because I managed to completely destroy the heater cartridge during a heat block swap. They are a real pain to remove. But, reinstalling a new one is quick and easy. I picked up multiple because I always want to have a backup on hand just in case it is needed quickly.

Order a couple of these throught the year. They are the correct length for my Ender 3 and work great. As someone who's had a tough learning curve with 3d printing I've ruined my share of heater cartridges there come in handy. I've also used it on my LK5 Pro. But that's required some wire splicing to increase length. Definitely recommend. ... show more

Basic hot end heater from my Ender 5+. It is too early to tell if they will work as needed. I have one in use now and so far; it is working as expected. They were received in a timely manner and packaging was acceptable with no damage.
