  • Fantastic

  • Perfect homebrew kits.
Color: Hefeweizen
I really oscillated back and fourth on buying one of these. Brewing my own beer seems fun but I'm not so interested in doing such as to go all crazy with it. These kits are absolutely awesome. So I had previously been gifted one of the 'mr.beer' kits and I found no enjoyment out of it, seemed like it was for kids, minus the alcohol aspect. What is marvelous about these is the quality of the ingredients, the straightforward directions (which you have to retrieve online and are a one size for all kits pdf, don't sweat it, the directions are perfect) so i made this and the 'Whitehouse' honey wheat. Both came out shockingly well. The beer I was left with i would have raved about had it been served to me in a local brewery. But the hefenweizen is definitely my favorite of the two, by a significant margin. I almost hesitate to leave that remarks as I don't want ppl buying them all up bc I am going to grab several more. All you'll need that the kit doesn't provide is a thermometer to check and monitor your water temp (integral). A 1 gallon glass 'carboy' (13-15 bucks right here on the Zon') and an airlock (I got 2 for like 5 bucks, again right here on the Zon') . GET IT, BREW IT, I used some honey for the bottle conditioning(you'll know what I mean once you read the directions) as opposed to sugar which i used for my first brew (Whitehouse wheat kit). Let's just say a 32oz bottle of my hefeweizen (bought the 6, 32oz bottles on the Zon as well, dirt cheap price, killer bottles) which the kit yielded 4 of, was enough to set me off writing this review. You be the judge. A+++ PS!! You'll be wondering how long to ferment and bottle condition, ferment 2 weeks, I bottles conditioned 1 weeks (2 is recommended but I have zero patience) the one week provided ample carbonation and 'head' for me, but most will probably like 2 weeks because yes, it could have used a bit more carbonation. But the dang beer was so delicious it didn't matter. BUY IT!!! ... show more

  • Great taste
Color: Bone Dry Irish Stout
Tastes like Guinness, but smoother. Nice flavor!

  • Good quality, could use easier to print/read instructions
Color: O.G. Orange Golden
Decent quality and pretty simple brew process, reminds me of a Summer Shandy beer. The instructions could be improved by being in more built point format and easier to print/follow, but that's a minor complaint.

  • Fresh ingredients
Color: White House Honey Ale
Will update my review when i start brewing down the week. But, so far the ingredients are fresh, like the yeast has an expiration date in 2024. Good sign it will ferment beautifully. My only spiffy is that I couldn’t find the manual until i noticed the sticker inside with a digital copy url address. No biggie, beer making isn’t rocket science. Boil it, pour it, wait n bottle it. Im new to beer brewing but i been brewing wine and cider for a year so far. Still learning new things and opening doors for future Endeavor. Nice little bar with my own alchemic drinks. ... show more

  • It’s very tasty
Color: White House Honey Ale
I fermented it in my MrBeer fermenter. It was bottled last weekend and it tasted great just out of the little brown keg. Right now it’s carbonating, and hopefully it will be as good as it tasted while bottling. It was very fun brewing it. I will definitely buy other craft a brew products again! The photo shows how is it looking right now ... show more

  • Lacks compared to other ingredient kits
Color: Hefeweizen
Does not include physical instructions and the ones the manufacturer provides online do not include OG or FG range or many other details. Does not include bottle caps like other companies. Does not include priming sugar like other companies. Seemed fresh and beer turned out alright but I would be willing to spend a couple more dollars to have the caps, paper instructions with OG/FG listed and priming sugar included. They give you sanitizer but it's really only enough for brew day so you have to get more when it's bottling day. Not ordering again ... show more
