  • Fresh ingredients
Color: White House Honey Ale
Will update my review when i start brewing down the week. But, so far the ingredients are fresh, like the yeast has an expiration date in 2024. Good sign it will ferment beautifully. My only spiffy is that I couldn’t find the manual until i noticed the sticker inside with a digital copy url address. No biggie, beer making isn’t rocket science. Boil it, pour it, wait n bottle it. Im new to beer brewing but i been brewing wine and cider for a year so far. Still learning new things and opening doors for future Endeavor. Nice little bar with my own alchemic drinks. ... show more

  • Quality ingredients for beginners or experienced brewmasters
Color: White House Honey Ale
Good, quality ingredients & excellent online instructions & support- you can't go wrong. Anyone can use these kits, beginners or more experienced brewers. I make a few batches each year & really like the selection & ingredients offered by Craft a Brew. This is so much more fun than the cans of syrup you just boil offered by other companies. You get a better feel for everything that goes into really good craft beer with these kits. ... show more

  • Perfect homebrew kits.
Color: Hefeweizen
I really oscillated back and fourth on buying one of these. Brewing my own beer seems fun but I'm not so interested in doing such as to go all crazy with it. These kits are absolutely awesome. So I had previously been gifted one of the 'mr.beer' kits and I found no enjoyment out of it, seemed like it was for kids, minus the alcohol aspect. What is marvelous about these is the quality of the ingredients, the straightforward directions (which you have to retrieve online and are a one size for all kits pdf, don't sweat it, the directions are perfect) so i made this and the 'Whitehouse' honey wheat. Both came out shockingly well. The beer I was left with i would have raved about had it been served to me in a local brewery. But the hefenweizen is definitely my favorite of the two, by a significant margin. I almost hesitate to leave that remarks as I don't want ppl buying them all up bc I am going to grab several more. All you'll need that the kit doesn't provide is a thermometer to check and monitor your water temp (integral). A 1 gallon glass 'carboy' (13-15 bucks right here on the Zon') and an airlock (I got 2 for like 5 bucks, again right here on the Zon') . GET IT, BREW IT, I used some honey for the bottle conditioning(you'll know what I mean once you read the directions) as opposed to sugar which i used for my first brew (Whitehouse wheat kit). Let's just say a 32oz bottle of my hefeweizen (bought the 6, 32oz bottles on the Zon as well, dirt cheap price, killer bottles) which the kit yielded 4 of, was enough to set me off writing this review. You be the judge. A+++ PS!! You'll be wondering how long to ferment and bottle condition, ferment 2 weeks, I bottles conditioned 1 weeks (2 is recommended but I have zero patience) the one week provided ample carbonation and 'head' for me, but most will probably like 2 weeks because yes, it could have used a bit more carbonation. But the dang beer was so delicious it didn't matter. BUY IT!!! ... show more

  • Easy brewing!
Color: Brown Ale
We love these small brew kits. Not a lot of beer, but a fun project and a few tasty beers down the line to enjoy. So far we have brewed the Christmas brew, Heiffeweizen and not yet completed this Brown. I think being careful not to contaminate is crucial. Fun and tasty!

  • If you like to brew your own beer, extract style, this kit's for you!
Color: O.G. Orange Golden
It's been awhile since I brewed this extract kit, but I do remember liking it. Makes beer with a hint of orange zest.

  • Great product
Color: White House Honey Ale
This kit has high quality ingredients and makes a great beer. I'm an experienced homebrewer, but sometimes I just want a small batch of something easy to make. These kits are perfect for that. They would also make a great gift for the homebrewer in your life.

  • Solid Kit!
Color: Single Hop IPA
I have the carboy, tubes, thermometer, etc; from a complete Craft a Brew kit I bought a few years ago with an APA recipe. Most other 1 gallon kits I found on Amazon are extracts/concentrates that taste $^&$%^# horrible so when I saw these recipe kits on Amazon I thought I'd give it a shot, it's a much more enjoyable experience home brewing with actual grain and hops than wort concentrate. I followed the instructions that originally came with the kit - the same as what they have on their website, paying special attention to small differences with this specific kit like the multiple times you have to add hops and what not. The finished product was very good, I'm not putting Ballast Point out of business yet but everyone that tried it liked it. Used the .5L Grolsch flip top bottles as always, this easily filled 6 of them with leftover to spare, given that a gallon's 3.75L you could probably fill a 7th but I didn't want to risk sucking up all the sediment in the carboy. The bottle conditioning seems to give it a flavor somewhat different from that of an IPA you'd get at a bar or the store but overall I enjoyed it. I'd definitely recommend giving these at least an extra week or more of aging in the bottle beyond what the instructions say, the ones I left longer and drank last ended up having the best flavor. P.S. - Not that this matters as much but their package design is also solid. P.P.S - sanitize your stuff friends ... show more
