  • Not very accurate above 20 torr or so. Mine had a bad virtual leak that improved
Pattern Name: Gauge
I got two of these. The first was very inaccurate above 1000 microns, the second was fairly accurate up to about 20 Torr. To be fair, most of the other micron gauges only go up to 10 or 12 Torr and I'm pretty sure this one uses a similar sensor. I guess the other models choose not to guess, and this one does guess. Still I prefer having some idea of the vacuum even when I know it is inaccurate. At first I though that both units that I got leaked pretty badly. I returned the first as it was inaccurate to boot. I usually use it to pull initial vacuum so the leak is not a dealbreaker. My process outgasses so the working pressure is much higher. A strange thing happened though. I left the chamber under vacuum for a couple of days (I thought to let a new gasket outgas) but low and behold the gauge stopped leaking as well. Either there is some outgassing going on, or a virtual leak to some other part of the gauge, but after the initial vacuum, I pulled the chamber down to 400microns and the gauge seemed fine ~5 micron per hour leakup on a 3 gal vacuum chamber. So If you have one of these sitting in a box thinking it leaks and is worthless, Hook it up to a vacuum chamber for a few days and see if it stops leaking Overall I am happy with the gauge for its wider range and lower price ... show more

  • DIY AC Job
Pattern Name: Gauge
With the crazy economy we find ourselves, my son and I ended up doing our own AC repair. We replaced our A-Coil and outside condenser unit with all the filters, fittings, etc. We also decided to use the solder with flux method as opposed to the silver rod brazing method. We were successful just before the hot muggy weather overtook our part of the country. This guage was the recommendation for us to measure the vacuum test on our system. It required some careful reading, but the learning curve was reasonable and it played a critical part in our ability to confirm the vacuum on our system. I would buy this - rather expensive guage - again to ensure I had all the right tools for this job. ... show more

  • Worth The Money
Pattern Name: Gauge
Bought this guy back around the end of 2020 when the micron gauge built into my gauges quit on me. After 3 years and probably close to 1,000 uses, something finally failed internally and it reads “low battery” as soon as it’s powered on. This thing was tossed around, rained on, had refrigerant shot into it (tired techs make silly mistakes) and still gave me 3 good years. ... show more

  • Works great
Pattern Name: Gauge
Works great. I did need to clean it several times with alcohol as the instructions explain, and then it did work correctly. It was a used one and must have had some oil in it. If the sensor is contaminated with even a little bit of refrigerant and the oil which refrigerant typically carries, the oil will cause the sensor to read incorrectly. ... show more

  • amazing accurate gauge
Pattern Name: Gauge
I used this to validate the vacuum and leak test of a HVAC install. This gauge provides a very accurate micron reading which allows validation of proper evac, and stability of the vacuum to ensure a leak free system. I used this a few times and it has paid for itself already and provides professional level confidence of a job well done. ... show more
