She uses it as a foot stool, side table (flip the lid), and I use it to sit on. I weigh 170. My husband weighs 240 and sat on it with no problems. The fabric is not thin and appears to be of good quality. It is soft and has plenty of cushion for a comfy sit. We put her puzzle books and iPad in the storage area (with room left to add other items) which is not huge but sufficient. I bought this to go beside my shoe cabinet so I didn't have balance putting my heels on anymore. It's stunning and better than I expected. The texture and quality of the fabric is amazing. I love how this stool has 4 legs instead of the 3 everyone else seems to have. Because of that it's very sturdy. I have it on carpet and you didn't get that wobble you get with 3 legs. Product was very easy to assemble. All you needed to do was screw on the legs. Took less than five minutes to assemble the whole thing. You can use the chair as storage or flip the seat and use it as a table. Very versatile!
