I gave it a 5 star rating for looks and functionality but there were two issues: 1. A weld broke when tightening the skid plate. 2. The directions for installing the ware strip did not mention the metal strip. Otherwise it’s a great unit. Should allow 2 hours for assembly.

Arrived in 3 separate boxes on separate days, poorly packaged for as heavy as this is with an many small pieces. In general the machine work seems fine. Though some of the assembly -- especially around the pivot plate and springs is really poorly planned by the manufacturer. This step likely requires special tools and required is to drill/redrill the holes for the pivot pin as the plate itself was not true. ... show more

    • Great Product For Zero Turn Owners
Turned my zero turn into a great little snow plow. With this and a set of chains I’m able to plow my driveway in a fraction of the time and energy it took by hand and put a piece of expensive equipment to use all year instead of just sitting in my barn.

Adjustments are constantly moving. If you tighten them too tight the tube bend. M going to have to drill holes and put bolts through. Could have been designed better.

Big question up front: Will this fit in my Cub Cadet ZT1 50”? Yes. You’ll need to use the bolt-on option. Next big question? Was it hard to install or were there any special modifications? No, with the exception of replacing the provided 4” bolts with 3” bolts from the Depot of Home. The frame on the ZT was a little too narrow for the 4” bolts which were not fully threaded and I didn’t want to use spacers/washers. A 3/8 drill bit (for drilling metal) was an extra expense since I didn’t have one. Take care when drilling to ensure both bolts go in perpendicular to the frame. I had to re-drill one hole that was just slightly off. Not a big issue. I got the blade protector which I can already tell is going to preserve both the blade and my concrete driveway. The glides under the blade adjust so you can either scrape the protector across your driveway, or raise it up a bit which is what I did. I don’t need the asphalt scraped clean. Not counting the trip to the hardware store for 3” bolts, I estimate it took me 2 hours without rushing. Attaching the blade to the pivot plate is best with a second person to insert the pin, but could be done single handedly with clamps on a work bench. The springs aren’t terribly taught, and only need to be stretched about an inch. Out of sheer luck, we got about 3” of snow as I was putting the plow together. It was a blast clearing out the snow on my 150’ driveway in three (3) passes! I’m very glad I got the 60” blade. The 3-car parking pad took just a few more passes, and I will need to invest in some chains. In a straight line in shallow snow I had no problems, but the ZT does amazing donuts when turning (fun, but I was lucky I didn’t put it in the ditch). I do need to adjust the foot control so that the blade raises up higher, but that’s just tweaking it for better performance. The pivot pin works great. Yes, I had to get off the tractor, pivot the blade, and restart the tractor. But that took about 30 seconds, and the blade was easy to pivot since it was resting on the snow. I probably could have done the whole driveway by just pushing to snow to the side, but I wanted to see how the pivot worked. No issues. The only missing part was one lock nut for the blade protector (out of 9 total). I got an excessive number of extra washers that I probably could have used as spacers, but will just go in the storage box for future projects. No damaged components during shipping. The plow arrived about a week earlier than projected by Amazon. Looking forward to seeing how it handles deeper snow and with chains. Update: ok we had several 8-10” snows last spring. The plow did an amazing job. It moved snow in minutes that would have taken me hours- or a heart attack- to shovel. Extremely happy with it.
