I am a fan of martingale collars. In the past, I found a "deal" on some with metal in the part that gets smaller but they had a weak spot and broke. I used to walk my stubborn terrier/red heeler mix in a harness which was a pain to put on and take off. This collar is loose and comfy for my dog when she lounges around the house and is highly effective in getting her to walk in the same direction that I am walking in when out for a walk. It is 5/8 wide, which is slightly wider than most other collars in size small (3/4 is the usual width), and I like that very much to prevent the collar from digging into her neck when she pulls on the leash. It looks just like the picture (color just as vibrant) and the sizing was dead on if you read the sizing chart. When adjusted properly, while lax, the collar can be removed easily without hurting the dog while when used on a leash it tightens to both warn the dog not to pull while keeping them safely on the leash and unable to slip out. My 90lbs pit bull hasn't harmed the product while trying to chase a bunny (his only weakness when on a walk unfortunately). ... show more

Our now 10 months old puppy had many collars. He broke and escaped from all previous ones. We recently hired a professional dog trainer and they recommended this type. It was the best choice and is very strong and well made. Best choice we made. The medium size for my 50lb pit mix fit very well. Lots of room to adjust and make it the perfect size. We’ve had the collar for months now and it has held up nicely. We recently added a tactical vest whenever he’s out and about with us, so now the martingale collar is used just to hold his tags around his neck. I will say, this was not helpful in stopping him pull while walking. Worked ok at breaking his attention from something, but I would not rely on this collar to help correct medium to large dogs from pulling. ... show more
