I received these today, and could not wait to assemble them. They were packaged/protected very, very well. The instructions were explained and illustrated well, although I did have to get a magnifying glass to make sure that I had the screw/washer combos correct. I am 74 years old, and it took me about 20 minutes to assemble the first one, and only 10 minutes for the second one because I knew the instructions by heart then! I like these chairs. They feel solid and the color is nice. They were fairly easy to assemble, but the bolts and washers come in a paper-backed thing with labels on the opposite side that they come out. So you have to locate your item then flip it over to get it out, all the while hoping that nothing falls out the other holes you've made. The four legs are actually two different parts, one that meets its pair and the other two press up against the first two under the seat, corresponding to the wobble. It took me some finesse to eliminate the wobble, but not too bad. I basically tightened the swivel piece to one of the legs, then pulled the legs apart where they meet the swivel, which eliminated the wobble. Then I tightened the bolt on the opposite leg to lock it into position. Time will tell how long it holds, but the legs do have adjustable feet so wobble can be easily eliminated later. The instructions tell you to put it on a flat surface and correct for wobble before adding the feet, so that's why I'm mentioning this experience. I definitely like how these chairs were packaged. Everything arrived in perfect condition and they didn't use Styrofoam! So I didn't have Styrofoam pebbles everywhere when I was done. There was even a piece of cardboard taped to the flaps of the box under where might use a utility knife to cut open the box. The cardboard appears to provide some minimal protection against a blade cutting too deep when opening the box. Even with that in place, I'm glad I was very careful to use as little exposed blade as possible. Otherwise, I might have damaged the contents. The first thing I noticed when getting ready to put these chairs together was how well they were packed. Each piece was wrapped in foam and the parts were separated and well-labeled in blister packs. The manual is clear and easy to follow - and written in proper English. Assembly took a little time and was easy. I was surprised that the legs are actually wood, as I expected them to be just metal based on the pictures. The metal cross connects the top of the legs, and the metal ring footrest connects them toward the bottom. The swivel itself is quite large and heavy. Screw in levelers with plastic feet are included to protect your floor. It all feels sturdy when assembled. The seat cushion is not very firm. It doesn't feel like the best foam in the world, but it is comfortable. I went with the brown fake leather. It is smooth and easy to clean. It is not very stiff or thick. It looks nice. The height is the same as the stools that I am replacing, so they are great for the raised counter in my kitchen. ... show more
