We bought this ice make that adds style and a great feature to our newly remodeled kitchen. It is such a fast ice maker and I love the simple stainless look and ease of install and use. We had a small issue with the unit so we contacted customer support and BOY are they quick to respond and amazing to deal with. You can tell the customer is their number 1 priority and they do not waste your time. Within 24 hours, instead of trying to troubleshoot too much they had a new one delivered in less than 3 days. And they said keep or donate the old one no reason to return it. This was amazing. I am 100% confident this issue was a fluke so I am not concerned with the new one at all. They reached out on their own several times to make sure we received it and it was installed and working. They clearly wanted us happy so I decided to write a review when I normally don't.     • Have to defrost more frequently than I had thought

Waited a few months prior to a thorough review The good is the ice itself is solid and large. Stays frozen in my Yeti for a long period of time. Also appreciate there's no need for a drain for where I placed the freezer. But maybe that causes the ice being stuck together? The bad- has more bad than good or at least In my opinion. I've never owned a machine such as this so maybe this is normal. There is always a build up of ice. I either have to frequently defrost the whole machine or let the ice build. When the ice is full, I feel like water just drains to the bottom of the bucket which freezes the whole bucket itself. It becomes harder to dish out a few cubes because it is stuck together. I think I saw another reviewer say the same. If you use the ice before the bucket is full, it's great. But if you let it sit for long periods of time (more than 3 days), the whole bucket is clumped together. The machine is also very loud when making ice. You'll hear the water go to the machine and you'll hear the ice crack or drop down into the bucket. UPDATE Machine doesn’t produce ice anymore. The first unit was defective. Never got cold or made a single cube of ice. I did not understand when I purchased that I was buying third party outside my regular Amazon purchasing. The replacement process could be better. I have the replacement unit running only a couple days. Seems to be working as it should. They tell me they will have the shipper pick up old unit. ... show more

Unlike many ice makers, this one keeps the ice very cold, fully frozen and not melting into a blob. It makes ice quickly, not too noisy. I replaced one of those clear ice machines since they melt down continually and run continually. This one is easy on the water bill and easy on the electric bill. It was packaged REALLY well for shipping and arrived quickly without damage. It's supported by a US office which is great. Controls consist of an on-off switch, and a lever to stop production but remain cold. ... show more

We have had to defrost the ice make each month and now it has stopped making ice completely. We did the trouble shooting recommended and it still doesn’t work. It hasn’t even been a year. Very disappointed!

Our U-line ice maker finally died after 20 years. Didn’t feel like spending over $3,000 on a new U-line so we thought we’d give it a try. Glad we did. It took about 24 hours to fill the bucket. It is very quiet. The ice is good quality and doesn’t melt very fast. This is a freezer unit, unlike a lot you find here on Amazon, so no drain hose needed.     • Makes a lot of ice but also makes a mess
With our family of 5 we never had ice from out refrigerator ice maker. We bought this to im help the other one keep up with ice production. Now we don’t even use the other ice maker. This thing makes a lot of good solid ice. It’s only downfall is it drops water inside and that cause the ice under the ice tray to freeze together. So about once every two weeks or so I have to dump the entire bin and start over. I pulled it out and re leveled it, and it got a little better. But still makes a mess. ... show more
