  • Awesome little washing machine
Color: Grey+White
I bought this portable washer when I realized that my full-size washer was actually too big for most of the washing I do. Even its very small water level is excessive at times in my full-size machine. Having had a Hoover portable twin tub years ago that I loved, I knew this 20lb. COSTWAY twin tub would be the answer. For best results, and less stress for the washer, there are a few things to do correctly for this type of washer. Start the filling of water, add small amount of detergent. After the water is approximately a foot deep, turn on the wash cycle and begin adding clothes. The more water used, the less stress on the motor. I washed a load of six dish towels, four T shirts, two washcloths, and a large bath towel, with a water level of about 3/4 full. Great wash results, and the spin dryer was run for 2 minutes for 2 separate spin dry cycles for this load. I've never needed to run the spin dryer for more than 3 or 4 minutes for the clothes to come out nearly dry. Very pleased with this washer and would recommend it. (Update 8/20/24) - Almost 4 years of weekly use now, and it still works and looks like new. ... show more

  • WORKS GREAT
Color: Grey+White
I put it in my bath tub with a mat under it so it won't move. It works great. I love that I can rinse as many times as I want. My clothes are cleaner, softer then when washed in a large washer. I control the actual temperature & delicate setting. It is lightweight very quiet. The spin dry works really good the clothes come out almost dry to the touch. I can put more in than I thought I would be able to. ... show more

  • Very Straight Forward Product
Color: Grey+White
This product is super simple in all the ways about it. Simple color scheme (a neutral grey/white), three control knobs (wash timer, wash selector, and spin timer), two water hookups (which I never used), and one drainage hose. Wash timer is very simple and labeled in minutes. Turn to the time you want, and you're done. If you want to cancel early, simply turn the knob back to 0. Wash selector is simple, three options; Gentle, Normal, and Drain. Gentle cycle turns the pulsator short times and longer pauses between turns. Drain, well that's what drains the Washer side. Note, the spinner side is always in "drain mode" no matter what setting the wash control is in. Speaking of spinner, super simple. Turn to how long you want to spin, most things are two minutes or less. As mentioned, the washer is 12 lbs capacity. I can wash an entire weeks of work clothes in one load; two khaki pants, 5 white t-shirts, and 5 polo shirts. If you do the math, this requires me to split the load into two in order to spin. Which brings me to the spinner, super simple to use. Place the wet clothes in, take the spin cap and press the clothes down firmly, close both lids (there's two) and spin. How I use the machine: I use cold water detergent as it works so much better when using cold water, also saves on heating costs (electric/gas). I place a 5 gallon bucket under the bath faucet and turn on the cold water starting to fill up the bucket. I then place the machine into the tub. First full bucket i pour directly into the washer and then add my soap (very little amount). Start bucket number two. I turn on the washer for two spins (5 seconds or so) to mix and then put in the clothes. Bucket two is normally done (only need about 3 more gallons) and fill until needed. Normally just use setting at three minutes, sweaty/dirty I go to 6. Depending on how many loads I have, I may reuse the water again with just adding a tad bit more soap. Or, I'll drain it and fill it up with fresh water and then reuse the rinse water for the second load. When done rinsing I will then run through the spinner for 2 minutes and to remove the soap i spin for only 30 seconds. I then hang up to dry which is normally done within an hour. Jeans obviously can take a bit longer. Do not recommend large blankets. Sheets are easily done. Quality: It's on the cheaper side, but has held up for almost a month with weekly washes up to 4 loads each week. So signs of it breaking anytime soon. I would defiantly buy this as a gift if you have a family member moving to a small apartment or even a dorm that has a bathroom in the room! Special note: This is gravity drained, so the machine must be higher than where you are draining. So the hose must go down. This is why i put it directly in the bathtub. ... show more

  • Good little unit - kind of like Goldilocks.
Color: Grey+White
You can't do too much or too little. IMO - don't over load the washer but you have to have enough to fill the spinner completely or it shakes a LOT and always use the little plastic plate on top of spinner load. Never use too much soap! I see people complained the spinner stopped working and I'm guessing that they may open the lid while it is still spinning too often. When you open the lid it slams to a stop and that must be hard on it. I first tried it on a raised rolling cart (roughly the height of the tub wall) but it took up so much space, now I just lift it in and out of the tub and store it in another room. I can lift it, I doubt a little old lady could. I put down one of those rubber door mats with the cut out designs in the tub and that seems to stabilize it pretty well. I didn't bother with the filling tubes and connecting it to the sink, I just use the shower head to fill it and that works fine. I did find out it has an overflow mechanism so that's a plus IF you have it in an area where it can drain like the tub. You can fill the washer (ie close the drain) while it spins and the spinner still drains. So I put in the wash, a little soap, run it, rinse the clothes as I put them in the spinner, run the spin (as I refill the wash) then back in the wash for a rinse. Then spin again. That spinner is powerful it takes no time at all to dry them. The clothes are coming out clean and so far I'm very happy with the unit. It takes more interaction than a regular washer of course but hey anything is better than the laundry mat. I personally wouldn't put blankets in this machine, I think they're too heavy so I still have a regular washer (on it's last leg) that I do blankets in. I'm hoping I can put off buying a new regular machine by doing the majority in this little unit. If I had a baby with poopy clothes this thing would be GREAT to use as pre - wash poopy stuff only in. OK long winded I know. You all have a nice day! ... show more
