REALLY IMPRESSED! I recently did upgrades in my kitchen. My range hood isn't vented, so my main objective was to buy the most attractive hood for the least amount of money. I was going to purchase a B**** for $220 at HD, but when I went to look at it, it was cheaply made with horrible welds. I didn't want to see the underside of the hood, so I continued to look online. I came across an article in Forbes Magazine that rated the best range hoods for 2024. They rated Cosmo the best. Honestly, I'd never heard of them. I found this model on Amazon, and it had all the bells and whistles I wanted for $100. How could this be?? I figured that if it looked cheap in person, I'd just return it. Imagine my delight when I opened up the box to find a hood twice as nice as the B**** for half the price! The instructions to convert this to a ductless hood were easy to understand and even easier to do. I'm so glad I purchased this hood. It looks lovely in my kitchen. My handyman couldn't believe how little I paid for such a lovely range hood. He immediately did the suck the paper test and it works great. As other reviewers mentioned, the under the hood light is very dim and near worthless, but I can live with that small compromise. ... show more

My stove and range hood of 30+ years (yes, 30+ years!!) needed to be replaced. My search produced this Cosmo range hood (5MU30) and I immediately liked the clean lines and simplicity. The features listed are great as well. It is reasonably priced for the options and look you get with this. The noise level is not bad, even on high! The metal filters are so easy to remove and clean! The light is fairly bright, but is concentrated mostly toward the back. Not a deal breaker because I don't normally cook in the dark. LOL I do have a small rechargeable magnetic strip light that I discovered I can attach to the underside of the range hood for more direct light. An Aha! use for that! The controls are labeled and super simple to access. Installation was slightly tricky since the old unit was hard wired and the hole did not exactly line up. This was not a deal breaker since my installers (sons) are handy!! Pro tip (LOL): make sure to take into account the profile of this unit. If it is a replacement, make sure your doors will open the same without hitting the side of the hood if that is important to you. My old unit was sloped in a way that the cabinet door did not hit the side of the hood as it did not protrude as much until a few inches lower. The new unit does not come down as far, is more compact and that is why I hit the door. But the compactness is something I really like, so I can live with it!!! The range vent was well packaged and arrived in good condition. Finish looks great and all parts to install were included. Instructions were easy to follow, and it came with two paper templates, back and top mounting, to assist in predrilling the mounting screw holds. Come with mounting to include drywall. Completed installation in under 5 minutes. Vent fan has a good suction and easily handle smoke and steam extraction. (Out is ducted installation). Noise is low on the first two setting and reasonable noise level on high. The unit feels well build, the filters screens are very easy to remove and install, and I really appreciated that the logo was no installed on the vent. This makes the unit look much cleaner and does not create a cleaning issue. Removed fingerprints with water on a cotton cloth. Very pleased with purchased. ... show more
