This Cortizone 10 Ointment formula is designed to be water- resistant, with a petrolatum base, which forms an occlusive barrier to help keep the affected area clean and lock in moisture. Use Maximum Strength Cortizone 10 Ointment to help temporarily relieve itch associated with minor skin irritations and rashes associated with insect bites; psoriasis; and poison ivy, oak, and sumac. Stock up on 2-ounce tubes of Cortizone 10 Maximum Strength Ointment so you always have itch relief on hand. 1% hydrocortisone is the maximum strength available without a prescription. DIRECTIONS: Adults and children 2 years of age and older: Apply to the affected area not more than 3 to 4 times daily. For children under 2 years of age: Ask a doctor.
