  • Compatible with MSI X470 Gaming Plus Ryzen 2nd gen Motherbaord with Ryzen 5 CPU - Very fast
Style: 3000MHz Size: 16GB Kit (2x8GB) Color: Black
At first, I bought and installed a Crucial 16GB Single DDR4 UDIMM CL17 memory into my new MSI X470 Gaming Plus motherboard with Ryzen 5 CPU. I'm experienced with building PC's from scratch, been my hobby since college. When I started the computer for the first time, it would not post or allow me to go into BIOS, and gave out 3 long beeps. Online search found that it's a memory not detected, or faulty. I don't think it's a bad motherboard because I've never had a motherboard fail, but I've had lots of memory cards that did fail even when new. If cheap components are used in a memory card, it will have lots of quality and compatibility issues. After trying to re-seat the 16GB card many times, it finally worked without explanation. In BIOS, I wasn't able to enable my motherboard's XMP to adjust memory speed or settings (all XMP settings were locked out). After running it for a few hours, I shut the PC down to install a new CD-Rom. Then when I turn my PC on, again would not post or allow me to go into BIOS, gave three long beeps, memory issue again. I finally gave up on the Crucial 16GB card and bought a premium gaming memory, CORSAIR 16GB (8GB x 2) Vengeance LPX, CL15, 3000 Mhz. After installing the Corsair memory cards, the computer booted fine the first time, and booted up twice as fast into Windows 10. My first guess is the Crucial memory cards are defective or has compatibility issues. My second guess is the CL17 of the Crucial memory is too slow for the Ryzen 5 2nd gen CPU and motherboard, and Ryzen 5 needs memory cards rated at CL15 and CL16 or faster (the lower the CL the faster the memory). Funny thing is after I purchased the Corsair Vengeance, as I was waiting for it to ship to my house, the Crucial 16GB was working again, computer was able to boot up. It's as if it knows the Crucial memory is getting replaced and it decided to work again. After installing the Corsair Vengeance cards, the default speed was at 2100 Mhz, without XMP configuration. I went into the Bios, enabled A-XMP, set it to profile 2, and it's now operating at 2933 Mhz, close to the advertised speed of 3000 Mhz! Very happy with the Corasir Vengeance memory cards ($110 at time of purchase) even though it was $11 more than the Crucial card. Pro's: 1. Much faster than CL17 cards, noticeable shorter boot time to Windows 10 (10 seconds versus 20 seconds on the CL17 card), faster shut down 2. Very sleek looking and has aluminum heat sinks for cooling, improves durability and life 3. XMP compatible. Easy to configure over clocking using most newer motherboards that has XMP. 4. More reliable and higher quality. Didn't have trouble on first boot. Cons: 1. A bit more expensive than the average memory cards. 2. 8GB x 2 cards used up 2 of my 4 slots on an ATX motherboard. If one is building on a Micro ATX motherboard where there are only 2 memory slots, one will not be able to expand the memory in the future as both slots are used up. ... show more

  • Perfect upgrade for our computer.
Style: 2666MHz Size: 32GB Kit (2x16GB) Color: Black
My son's gaming PC was getting a little slow with modern games. We purchased this to upgrade his memory from 8GB to 32GB. I installed it in a dual channel configuration. The memory has worked perfectly. He's very happy with the increase in game performance. Computer memory is easy to install, even for a beginner, and there are many online guides about how to do it. Make sure you are purchasing memory that is compatible with your motherboard, and make sure you use the right slots if you want to run a faster dual channel configuration. The heat spreader on this memory is a nice feature, and looks great too! ... show more

  • Works great and no issues with it for my build
Style: 3000Mhz CL15 Size: 32GB Kit (2x16GB) Color: Black
I will go into in-depth detail on any item since other popular reviews have given excellent information, so in quick summary: My Build (all components work flawlessly): 1. Zalman ATX Mid Tower Case R1 (Nice looking case, provides room for everything, adequate cooling and allows good cable management). 2. ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-H GAMING LGA1151 DDR4 HDMI DVI M.2 Z370 ATX Motherboard with Gigabit LAN and USB 3.1 for 8th Generation Intel Core Processors (Great expandability and room for future upgrades, enough USB ports for most applications). 3. EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti GAMING, 8GB GDDR5, EVGA OCX Scanner OC, White LED, DX12OSD Support (PXOC) Graphics Card 08G-P4-5670-KR (Great balance of price and performance). 4. Intel Core i7-8700 Desktop Processor 6 Cores up to 4.6GHz Turbo LGA1151 300 Series 65W BX80684i78700 (Came with a thermal solution (fan) but I used the Cooler Master - see below). 5. 2 of Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD - CT500MX500SSD1(Z) (Man this is fast, Win10 boots in about 5/6 secs. and programs open fast as well). 6. Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA M.2 Type 2280SS Internal SSD - CT500MX500SSD4 7. CORSAIR TX Series TX850M 850W 80+ Gold Modular Power Supply (Adequate power supply for into the future and has ample connectors). 8. Corsair LPX 32GB DRAM 3000MHz C15 Memory Kit for DDR4 Systems (Adequate for my application for work and gaming) 9. Cooler Master Hyper RR-212E-20PK-R2 LED CPU Cooler with PWM Fan, Four Direct Contact Heat Pipes (Instructions are poor, system builders with experience will have no problem, first timers will eventually figure it out. Comes with all you need including thermal paste). 10. ASUS MX239H 23-Inch, Full HD 1920x1080 IPS, Audio by Bang & Olufsen ICEpower HDMI VGA Frameless Monitor (Really nice monitor for the price though those heavy gamers will want something far superior. Built in Audio is good enough for You Tube and regular use, but I personally find its not so good for Netflix, look at some decent speakers based on your needs). 11. Sabrent 74-In-1 3.5" Internal Flash Media Card Reader/writer with USB Port , Black (CR-USNT) (For the cost and convince you can’t go wrong). 12. Asus DRW-24B1ST-KIT 24x Internal DVD Burner + Nero 12 Essentials Burning Software + Sata Cable Kit (Obsolete in some ways but good to have at times as some persons still give work items on CD). 13. Backlit Gaming Mouse, Gaming Keyboard, Large Gaming Mouse Pad, PC Computer Gaming Headset with Microphone Combo, S101-BA Redragon RGB LED Backlit 104 Key Gaming Keyboard with Wrist Rest (No issues at all, good feel and responsiveness and mouse drivers are available on the website. The headset sounds good). ... show more
