  • 4.0 out of 5 stars A highly recommended beast with only a few drawbacks
Color: White Size: 120mm Style: Pro Pattern: Single Pack
So, I read the reviews before I got this (Corsair ML120 Pro LED, White, 120mm Premium Magnetic Levitation Cooling Fan (CO-9050041-WW)). I just built a pc and my stock case fans are atrocious and it's making everything in my case moody. I'm a huge Corsair fan (despite my problems with the quality of some of their headsets) and I'm not super into RGB. It seemed like fate that I would find an LED only maglev fan. AND BOY IT WORKS. This fan is rated for something like 2400rpm, right? I easily get 2600+. I've been keeping it on full speed since I installed it and the only drawback for that is that at full speed, there is a whirring/whining noise. If you like having a room fan, it's not so bad. If you've ever had a PS4 pull a jet engine on you, it's pretty similar. With a headset on it really isn't noticeable and I think it honestly moves more air than my room fan does... But I think at around 80% is where the noise kicks in. And for as much work as this fan does, I'm honestly not going to be picky. It might even actually choke the airflow in your case if you put it at the back without having strong enough front/top fans or a case with good enough airflow. Which is why I'm now buying another 6 of these. That being said, I had read a review that said something about the screws and installing this fan was going to be a pain. So I was prepared for that. And he was absolutely correct. The holes for the screws aren't threaded. So you WILL get some resistance and you WILL get some plastic shavings. I'm a little concerned that at some point, if you adjust it a lot, it will eventually become stripped on the actual fan casing. And as a side note, installing it DID chip the paint on my case. I have a Cooler Master Masterbox TD500 Mesh White and as it was pretty cheap, I wasn't expecting the greatest quality (it came to me with a bad front panel), but with the fan installed securely and not forcing the screws, it still chipped it. So there's that. Also, the cord to connect the fan to your controller or motherboard isn't the longest. It was a bit difficult for me to connect mine and not have a giant cord running right across my GPU and CPU fan. However, you will most likely fall in love with this fan and proceed to replace all of your fans with it. It is beautiful and a workhorse. You will be disappointed in every other fan you come across because they don't have the same air movement or style. 9/10, would attempt to build an airplane with a couple thousand of these. ... show more

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars Comparable to GT2150, F4 120ER, SW3 High Speed.
Color: Black Size: 120mm Style: Pro Pattern: Single Pack
I used this as intake for my caselabs bullet bh7 case. I cannot speak for CPU rad/cooler performance but as case intake performance. My intake setup has a grill and demci filter. I have the mentioned fans and used them with Corsair Commander Mini. Thermalbench has a better review of these fans. I wanted to love this product, I just ended up returning it. These fans compete/compare to the gentle typhoon 2150(GT2150) PWM, the EKWB Vardar F4 120ER, and the Be Quiet Silent Wings 3 HIGH SPEED. The ML120 Pro is one of the quiet fans at sub 1200rpm. Heck, all the fans I mentioned are quiet at that range. BUT the MagLev in ml120 definitely is quiet at even 1450rpm and below. When I tested the fans, I tried with the lowest percentage allowed by the commander mini. 40%, all of them are quiet. 70%, the PWM control will vary on the fans. Performance are about even. 70% spins around +/- 1700rpm. The ml120 for some reason doesn't have that typical "bearing" noise found on the gt2150 and Vardar 120ER. The SW3 HS is quiet since it uses FDB. I tried experimenting on placing "steps" on the rpm to mimic the other fan models. I did 1150rpm, then 1450rpm, then 1850rpm, then 2150-2200rpm, then MAX for ml120. -1150rpm, all of them are quiet, SW3 and ml120 are the most quiet since they don't have any bearing noise. They move decent amount of air. -1450 rpm, they all start to move serious air and remain tolerable as far as noise. The gt2150 has a weird pitch, but I believe due to the grill, Vardar has some "grinding" noise at these rpm. SW3 HS and ML120 are still quiet and move the same amount of air. -1850 rpm, now they all start to show their "true colors". Out of all the fans, gt2150 @ 1850rpm was pushing air through my GPUs. Vardar spreads out the air(deadspot in hub area), SW3 HS is now the most quiet, air is good but not the same as the others mentioned. ML120 pro doesn’t have a deadspot, there is some air movement noise but no motor noise. Which is, IMO, pleasant. -2150-2200rpm, gt2150, Vardar 120er, and SW3 HS are in their max RPM on these range. The gt2150 is the only one(from my testing) that has met the rated RPM when picking MAX RPM in the commander mini. The Vardar 120er was at like 2060-2110rpm, the SW3 HS was at +/-2100rpm. They are still in the +/-10% of the rated specs. At this rpm, I give performance to gt2150 and ML120 pro. Ml120 still has no motor noise, just wind gushing noise. But the SW3 in this RPM is the least audible. If I have to go with performance at this RPM, gt2150, then ml120, then Vardar, then SW3 HS. For noise, it's SW3, then tied at 2nd ml120 and gt2150, then Vardar. The nice this about the ML120 is that is can go up to 2400rpm, which means you still got more performance on tap BUT the noise though. The difference in performance from 2200rpm is little and the noise is up by a lot. Both the ml120 PRO and SW3 HS have some sort of anti-vibration dampener. So it helps. The other advantage of ML is you can get LEDs if that's your thing. But if your tight on budget and need new fans, get the TWIN PACK of the ML120. Performs about the same but with no rubber dampener and no corner swap and gray blades. Gt2150 pwm is also available on amazon but you get the exposed wiring and gray blades, $22 for them. The SW3 HS is available through the "EGG" site for $20, it comes with the push pin rubber corner or the traditional screw-in corner with a dampener. The Vardar 120er is available through EKWB site or performance-pcs for around $20-$22. BOTTOM LINE: If you already have the gt2150 PWM or Vardar f4 120er or be quiet SW3 HS, then no need to get this. If you are JUST STARTING TO GET FANS, I would greatly consider this if price doesn't turn you off. All these fans are on the top when it comes to performance/noise. MagLev(ML120 pro) is phenomenal when it comes to noise at 1500rpm and below, followed by Fluid Dynamic Bearing 6-pole motor(SW3). If I were to use this as a rad fan, my review might be a little different but I used these as a case fan for intake in a SFF ATX case. Hence the reason I had to return it, since I already have the other 3 fans, I didn’t need this fan after testing it in my case. EDIT: Forgot to mention that with the commander mini, ml120, f4 120er, and SW3 HS went all the way down to +/-500rpm. 500rpm is the lowest commander mini will allow. Also, USE A 4-PIN PWM FAN HEADER/CONTROLLER, not DC, FOR ML120. Reviews online from both users and sites have mentioned it being the most optimal for ml120 regarding the noise profile of MagLev. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars I use these fans to cool an RTX 3080ti, with no custom loop (just a Corsair AIO)
Color: RGB Size: 120mm Style: Pro Pattern: Triple Pack w/ Lighting Node Pro
When I first read reviews about the GE Force RTX 3080ti, which, in my case, came packed with 84 degrees Celsius at stock, I was considering building a custom loop to cool down the GPU. I instead resorted to these fans (4) plus the Corsair's Capellix AIO (in addition to some tweaks to the GPU itself, which lowered the GPU temps by 30 degrees Celsius). I tested these fans at OC temps (CPU @ 5.2Ghz and GPU @ 2100+ Mhz) to see if the fans would help and they do provide the required cooling within the case, as long as you have very (!!) good air flow. Remember that fans, or an AIO - alone - won't cool down a system which is unreasonably high, however. . . >> you'll need to manage those components with careful testing to get the max out of the CPU / GPU with minimum voltage and wattage, first. There are good testing tools out there to help you calculate the flow of electricity and watts' usage at any given second and modify the CPU / GPU behavior w/out losing stability and actually even increasing efficiency and output. But when you have those occasional spikes in temperature within your case, these fans will kick in and provide the relief needed to avoid an unwanted system crashes. These fans are silent, have a really easy-to-use software (use it!) and the light show is amazing. I play on demanding simulators pushed to their limits and need all the quick cooling-down capabilities that I can possibly get. I have purchased more of these fans for a second PC with an RTX 3090. I am not considering fans from any other company. ... show more
