Description

A staple in the Iberia series, the C5-CET includes the same features as the C5-CE, but in a sleek thinline body size. With a solid Canadian cedar top and mahogany back and sides, this is a great guitar for the crossover player looking for a warmer nylon sound. The construction is based upon the traditional Spanish Classical guitar with the exception of a soft cutaway and a slightly thinner neck. The Fishman Isys+ 2band pickup system produces a rich and natural sound when amplified - perfect for gigging and recording. Like all guitars in the Iberia series, the C5-CET has a truss rod built into its neck.

  • Nice guitar. Sounds great. Plays well.
My guitar arrived on time and undamaged. There was nothing wrong that I could find and I went over every square inch of it. The finish was great and the guitar appears to be well built. It's as loud as any acoustic I have played and it sounds great. The action is good enough so I don't have to lower it. The electronics seem okay but I don't have a acoustic amp but it sounds great plugged into my Marshall amp with the settings twicked. I love the thin body and for those of us with big arms you will know what I am speaking of. I like the strings that come on it and will use them until they wear out. In conclusion, I like this guitar and plan on playing the hell out of it. I would recommend this guitar. I thought I would give a update since I've had this a while now and been playing it a lot. I replaced the nut and saddle with real bone and it sounds great. I do recommend you change the saddle and nut to bone. I've ran high tension strings since I've had it and went through several sets and the bridge holds well. It holds tune well enough. It sounds pretty good plugged into a amplifier for acoustic guitars but the type strings you use does seem to matter. I like the savaraz strings the most. For the price it's a decent guitar. ... show more

  • Get one! You'll love it!
Beautiful construction and woodwork. Warm clear tone and nice sustain. Very playable classic guitar. Great value for the money. The strings have settled into tune nicely. I like the Fishman onboard pickup! Neck was too wide for kids so had to return it. If you're in the market this one didn't have a scratch on it anywhere and it came from Amazon Warehouse. Great deals there! ... show more

  • Not great and not terrible but given a second chance I'd pass - know what you're getting
This is review is based on my judgement as a 30 year guitar player. It's playable but it's often quickly out of tune. I expect new nylon strings to not hold tune for a while but there are contributing factors that lead me to believe this will be an ongoing issue. The tuners are not very good. I watch carefully and find that I can turn the tuners a half to a full revolution before the gear engages sometimes. Additionally, the nut causes the strings to bind so when the tension is finally enough to tighten or loosen the string it jumps and the note you're seeking goes from flat to sharp in an instant. The on board tuner is decent and I have no issue with it or the preamp. The finish is pretty thick and it's showing signs of cracking or not adhering where the fretboard is glued to the body. There is also a definitive buzz on the 1st string on the 4th and 6th frets and the 4th string on the 4th, 5th and 6th frets. That tells me Cordoba left the 4th, 5th and 6th frets a little high and didn't detect it in the setup. Sure, I can take it to a luthier. I guess while I'm at it I'll have the nut and saddle replaced with Tusq. Maybe have the luthier check the finish too. Yes, I can overcome all of the issues. I'm simply advising you to be sure you know what you're getting with this purchase. I'll choose differently next time but I'll keep this one and try to improve it. ... show more
