  • Huge value. Very Impressed
Color: Yellow
I rarely write reviews however this product has exceeded my expectations. I just finished painting 600 feet of post and rail fencing with this spray gun. I was not very optimistic about the unit but thought, hey for $40 it’s worth a shot. It has preformed very well and I find it to be one of the best value purchases I have ever made. Quote to paint the Fence was or $3k and we completed the job for just under $200 using this spray gun and Sherwin Williams paint. Easy to use and clean. ... show more

  • Worked great for small jobs, keep an eye out on battery levels.

I have been repainting my basement and this item showed up on my Amazon Vine offers, so I ordered it with low expectations. Upon unboxing I tried to read the directions and disassemble it to understand how it works. The instructions seemed to have decent grammar if I recall correctly, but there were definitely some functions that were not very clear to me. I didn't see any labels on the 3 nozzles, but l can tell they seem to have different size holes. I was unclear on twisting 'what' causes the spray pattern to get wide or narrow (I think it's the 45 degrees of looser rotation of the black spray piece and not the red ring). I understood that spinning the red +/- knob on the trigger increases and decreases flow, but I could only find an upper limit and it would just keep spinning toward minus (-), so I had no real frame of reference for my effective range. The suction nozzle can be flipped to angle toward the front, rear, or wherever to accommodate upward vs downward spraying. The instructions didn't say how to do this and mine was stuck on there pretty good. Eventually I did get the nozzle removed without breaking it (pull straight off, maybe with a light twist. DON'T wiggle side to size too aggressively). It has since been easier to remove and readjust. Having never used a paint sprayer before I was afraid to try it on my freshly primed walls, but I did have a grimy, scuffed up interior door to try it on. I removed the door and attempted to clean/degrease the door then loaded up some Sherwin-Williams Emerald paint into the hopper. The manual said to follow the paint's instructions for dilution and the paint can didn't specify so I poured it in 100% as-is. I didn't even test spray and just went at it. At first I didn't think it was spraying, but then I did notice an area of the door had a gentle fade from the yellowish creme white to solid bright white. I went ahead and swept the sprayer back and forth along the length of the door to apply and even coat. I was surprised at how well it coated. I waited a few minutes and sprayed again from another angle to make sure paint was applied to all angles of the accent paneling. I did this two more times to make sure I didn't miss any spots and also tried not to apply too much at once to prevent globs/runs. All in all, I used less than 200mL of undiluted paint to apply 4 coats to the front of the door. I was impressed by the results. It goes on as a very fine mist, but even after the 2nd coat all of the scuffs and old paint-splatter was completely hidden, while still being able to see all of the faux wood grain in the door. I bet that if I tried to paint with a roller I would have used over 5 times the amount of paint, made a runny mess, and made the wood grain muted. My only caution is that I used an XC8.0 battery that was still on 4 bars and when I finished the battery was blinking on the last bar. Just keep an eye out to protect your battery investments as I do not know if there is any low-voltage protection built-in. With this in mind, I would keep this sprayer for smaller projects and not for painting entire walls. ... show more

  • Cordless HVLP sprayer
Color: Blue
If you like painting as much as I do I highly recommend you get one of these. This is a cordless HVLP sprayer that uses a Makita battery. The plastic on the housing on this guy feels pretty durable. I don't know if it's quite up to Makita standards but it does feel like if you threw this thing around and in the toolbox and in the back of a truck for a while it's going to hold up pretty good. The best part about this one is it's very very handy for doing some indoor spraying or possibly some quick spring where you don't really want to get out the whole entire air compressor set up and do a very good 100% you know over the top job. I have a corded one that is almost as mobile as this one but it's a little bit more set up time with the extension cord and not only that I'm kind of limited on where I can go but with this bad boy all you got to do is literally prep your paint pour it in your thing pop yourself in a battery and go to town and you can pretty much walk wherever the hell you want with this thing. The beauty of this thing is if I want to take a dresser outside and give it a paint job I can do that and I don't have to have my whole entire air compressor all set up I don't got lug stuff around equipment I don't have to get out a couple different sprayers or blah blah blah I literally just mix up my paint poured in make sure it's strained real good and I'm good to go. This one has a nice little air filter in the back of it that you can take out and clean. It also comes with three different nozzles that are adjustable from a wide to to narrow angle. It also comes with a viscosity cup so you can mix up your paint and make sure that it's nice and runny but if you're already familiar with HVLP and have poured many paints before you're not going to need a you're not going to need a viscosity cup anyway. There's also a couple cleaning brushes and box also. The only problem with this guy is it doesn't come with a battery when you buy it so you have to supply your own Makita 18-volt battery. I have tons of Tools around so that wasn't a problem for me. Overall I highly recommend this thing to anybody who wants a mobile paint gun for doing some spraying when you don't want to get out all the really good equipment. I have a super good air compressor and tons of HVLP guns with some Top Notch equipment to do some really fine work but some days it's just nice to be able to just grab the little handheld unit and just kind of go to town on things that I don't really need top notch quality work for. This thing would also be good for painting some small rooms possible even also as long as you got enough batteries to change out so you don't have to wait in between charges. This thing arrived on time and very well packaged and there was no damage to the Box. Also the plastic on this guy seems to be pretty darn durable and I think that it will last for quite some time even getting tossed around. 100% highly recommended ... show more

  • easy to use, but could use some better directions.
Color: Red
The directions were easy to follow and easy to get started; however I found myself in sort of a pickle when I switched paints; directions didn't offer a dilution ratio; I ended up searching on line but found they didn't align with this sprayer so after a huge mess and basically spraying my entire front yard with white paint, I regrouped and wasted a good amount of paint but figured out the dilution vs nozzle selection. It saved me so much time painting furniture with all its nooks and crannies. My next project is painting fence I feel confident that it will be easy to do. ... show more
