  • Works Better than a Product Twice its Price
First of all, not having to deal with a cord while using a sprayer is amazing. I have been using this sprayer withe an oil-based stain to seal and stain a new cedar fence. As a side note if you have to stain a fence use an oil-based product in a sprayer. The water-based satin does not go on evenly and this is at no fault of the sprayer but more the viscosity of the stain and you will need to thin it out in order for it to go on more evenly. Even then, I do not recommend using anything other than an oil-base stain with this or any sprayer. Getting back to specifics of this product, the price point as well as the quality its produces and the fact it uses a Dewalt 20v battery is awesome, especially if you already have other Dewalt products. There is a slight delay before the stain makes its way out of the sprayer from the time the trigger is initially engaged but other than that, it allows for a smooth, even finish. I have yet to see how long a single fully charged battery will last with this sprayer but as long as you keep an additional battery on hand there should be no issues with completing a day's worth of use. I love this sprayer and it is one of the best products I have purchased recently. ... show more

  • Worth the price!
I read most of the reviews before purchasing, so I could set my expectations. I would have given this 5 stars except for the precision of the application. Here are my observations after my first use: Easy to assemble, but the descriptions of the nozzle sizes were hard to find in the instructions. Small to Large the nozzle colors are White, Black, Red, Blue. Easy to use, but as far as weight remember the weight of the battery plus the amount of paint can get a little heavy after using it for a long period of time. It was light for my husband but a bit heavy for me. I recommend you use the slim lightweight 20v DeWalt battery. Spray, there is some splatter when you first pull the trigger, so the longer you can continue to spray the less splatter, you need to go slow, as with any sprayer, to get an even coat. Easy to clean, all pieces detach and were easy to clean, the cleaning brush that comes with it was perfect to get all the paint out of the small pieces. The shape of the paint container made it a perfect to just turn it upside down and sit it in the 1 gallon paint can to drain it directly back into the can. (If there is less that 1/2 gallon of paint) Overall I would definitely recommend this for quick and easy painting for projects that may not require perfection. I used mine to paint a small shed. It took me less than 1/4 of the time it would have with a brush and roller. I probably wouldn't use it to paint cabinets or interior walls of my home, or other projects that I need a more precise paint application. ... show more

  • Won’t spray thicker paint
The ease of not having a power cord is great and allows for moving freely around your project. However none of the nozzles are large enough to spray thicker paint like my larger Bucket Wagner. I tried to paint a block wall with Standard patio paint. Just clogged up and made a huge mess. What a let down. Watering down the paint is not an option for my projects. ... show more

  • Currently disappointed
It had problem with water-based paint even when I thinned it down. 1 amp Dewalt batteries did not work well with it. I switched to 2 am batteries, but after poor spray and just splatter I hand rolled the paint. Maybe it will work better with thinner products.

  • Disappointed
Although I have not (yet) applied power to the sprayer, it seems to be reasonably well constructed. What is Totally lacking - and the reason for the low rating - are the operating instructions. Included is a 9-page pamphlet that has *some* information, and a ton of warnings, but no real operating directions. Example: What is the "viscosity cup" for? There are 4 nozzles, each with a different size orfice, but zero information on when they should be used. The pamphlet also contains a parts diagram - that looks like a 22nd generation copy. Also included - a cleaning brush and some sort of wire pin - but again, no info on how or where to use either one. One notable instruction in the "STARTING OPERATION" section: "6) Plug In The Power Cable" Also, in the "BREAKS IN WORK" section: "1) Unplug The Power Plug" HUH???? Yeah, its time to repack this thing and return it. YMMV ... show more
