I was on the fence about this Modcase for ROG Ally. Looking at reviews, it was a no brainier if you are using it plugged in, or if you are looking for the lowest temps at all times. Installation was simple enough. They include silicone post extenders for the back button. I ended up using the 0.4mm extensions. My back buttons are super clicky now. The translucent version (what I purchased) looks really nice and I don't think you could go wrong with any color as my temps have dropped 2-5 degrees Celsius when playing plugged in. I would recommend the Modcase upgrade if you are looking for the best temperatures possible on your ROG Ally. Looks slick, feels just as good as factory all while keeping your system cooler than factory. Huge shout out to HandhelpDIY for an awesome upgrade that I can recommend! ... show more

This is a great upgrade to my ROG Ally. I love the transparent look and the handy kick stand. The product comes with the necessary tools and guide to install. They even included some extra screws for the case just in case you want to switch them out. The install is fairly simple. I love the new heat dissipation upgrade it provides. The final assessory is the strap that can be used to hold a backup power bank. Great product for any Ally owner! ... show more

This case has provided substantial heat reduction. I basically keep this Ally docked in high energy mode constantly for the best gaming experience and noticed the heat after a while. I made this upgrade and while it usually lies flat, the kickstand is sturdy and the back case is well constructed and fits well. Let me start by saying that there are far more pros then cons to this backplate. Your getting cooler temps (by a few degrees but hay it works), I love the semi transparent purple, the kick stand is solid and the apple watch style battery holder does its job. My biggest issue and the reason I'm knocking a start is that the grip area has zero texture. Making the rog ally slick and a pain to hold. This would be less of a problem if I could just order a case but with the vent redesign there aren't any cases that I feel really work out. I did order some grip stickers but not my favorite solution. All and all a good product just not really perfect. ... show more

This back plate is beautiful and it feels amazing in the hands, the fitment is perfect with no gaps around the edge that I can see, there is also an included replacement screw set and various thickness little rubber shims for the rear paddles to help with the fitment even more, the main attraction though is the silicone thermal pad to transfer some of the heat to the back plate and the metal mesh to help you squeeze the most performance out of your ally ... show more
